Does anyone know of any places (from Brisbane to Gold Coast) who does automotive chemical dipping to have a car body dipped so it removes all the paint and crap etc?

no sorry........ive only had electroplating done..........but maybe they might be able to lead you in the right direction.......

Getting it sandblasted would probably be your best bet...

sandblasting can warp your panels, ... so i dont think that's a good idea... i'm interested in this too, so someone please post up some info !! tongue.gif

when it comes down to it, just get urself some paint stripper, and do it urself...., not as good i guess, but get's the job done smile.gif

sandblasting done properly is quiet effective

just get it done at a car specialist "theres one at archerfield" and they can prime it for u too

putting a car body in a tank would require a very very large tank

= lots and lots of money for not much market (N)

Thanks guys. The only place I've found so far after an extensive search is in SA called Minus Paints.......

I've always done it myself before using paint stripper but I'm well over that after the number of cars I've done.

I don't really like sandblasting because of two things:
1. It actually gives the metal a slight shot peening effect and hardens the metal.
2. Your always stuffing around removing all the sand which gets in every hard to get at spots angry.gif ....

Looks like it's back to the old time consuming paint striping head_wall.gif .......


By the way, this is for my wifes car......So Guys; be afraid, be very afraid....She's building one tough street car to stir up some of you guys...........After all, which guy likes loosing to a girl.......Best start getting used to it........hahahahahahaha
