Seems to be a lot of 'fake' cars getting around recently..


By fake I mean; a GTST badged GTR and Lancers badged Evo - why do people do it? To the person who knows what the diffrence is they would know that is is not really what it is badged.


Just annoy's me when I see it, I saw a GTST and a Lancer this weekend with fake stickers/badges.


Worst one I have seen though would have to be a non-turbo GTST R33 that was badged with GTR badges, then tried to race me bowrofl.gif


Do we have any 'fakes' on Boost? oopsie.gif

As I say, if it fools 95% of the people 100% of the time, who cares about the other 5%, chances are, they'd be laughing at you anyway.

Had some tosser today tell me 'Get a real ferrari faggot'. All this from driving my SW20 MR2, dunno.gif Gee, my mr2 came out in 1989, don't know what the fuck his problem was (and it's factory stock to boot).

Had a massive curved GT wing too. Really went with the straight lines of the car.

The owner actually thought it was for Tickford Racing Decelopment....

Would be like having a boost guage that only your passenger could see.

I know of people who actually used to get around with a carload of mates, whenever gears were changed they'd all flick their torches on and off towards the roof of the car to simulate a rev counter with a shift light as well as leaning out the window and going 'pttshh'.

Not all fakes are cheap shit owned by inbreds....


what about the old school fakes, not everyone has the money to go out and buy a GTHO Phase 3 or a genuine article GTR XU1, but for those who want that factory muscle car look, building a replica is a much cost effective alternative.

I once saw an R33 skyline with a 'TRD' sticker on it.

The owner didn't see the humor in it at all when I pointed it out to him...

That's very different though than putting GTR badges on a NA skyline. or Evo stickers on a gli.

Alot of effort goes into building genuine replica's.

What would you say if you say a 4Cyl Sunbird with SLR 5000 down the side, and no other modification?
