A huge loss to his family, to Hollywood, and most importantly to our automotive community. Paul Walker from the Fast and the Furious franchise inspired a lot of us to harness the love we have to day for all things automotive. As a community, we feel that it is fitting to commemorate his life and influence even if only in a small way.

We feel compelled to act as well as mourn, so we're putting together a charity cruise to support the organisation Paul was helping out at the time of his death

i find it rather comicle, that while Mr Walker was still alive
no one probably gave a toss or second thought about his charity, now that
he has died its like "lets cruise and raise some money for his chairty.."

yeah well, I don't mind the concept of the fast and furious movies, being based on the car scene, however they've departed from anything remotely resembling a true representation of the car scene a long time ago

personally I try not to talk ill of people who have departed the earth. I just don't see the point of not being respectful of a person when they can't defend themselves. all it invites is people arguing on the internet = no winners

dvd rip / screener is out of Riddick. I'm not going to bother with it 'til it's a proper source

it never struck me as a movie that I wanted to spend money to go and see at the cinema.

yer i know what you mean, was just my 2c when it comes to these charity cruises,
they are good and go to a good cause, but realisticly i see them as just as excuse to try and avoid
having the cops turn up and putting the beatdown on all illegal cars by saying "hey we are trying to raise money"

kinda also make you wonder with event organisers, not specifically DS but any organiser for that matter
of how much of monies raised actually makes it to these charities..

For the first time since the sudden demise of Walker, his sister, Ashlie Walker has issued a statement to UK Daily Mail saying, "They were absolutely not racing, that's a complete lie. It hurts us when we hear these lies and it makes our grief worse and more painful. These are irresponsible allegations and people are trying to make out speed and racing was the reason for his death when it was just a terrible accident."

Ashlie gave this statement to tell Walker's fans that Paul and his friend were not irresponsible drivers.

Meanwhile, Paul's family including his father Paul Walker Sr., Paul's younger brother, sister-in-law, and uncle spent the day grieving. Reportedly, the family has turned to Mormon faith to get over actor's death.

Eyewitness to the accident has also confirmed in an official statement that Paul and Roger had been driving only for 5 minutes before the tragic accident happened. There was no way they could have increased the speed in such a short period of time.

speed was not the reason.. yer , doing the speed limit easily would of split the car in 2.
what do they think they were driving. a Reliant Robin..

Tokito Ami is a good example of what I'm talking about.

A small enough frame that she can have some meat (ie not look like she is starving) and yet still be tiny.

Granted, you will find white chicks that have that body too, but it's a rarity. With Japs it's pretty common.

Nope does nothing for me at all...

The German air controllers at

Frankfurt Airport are a short-tempered lot.

They not only expect one to know one's gate parking location but how to get there without any assistance from them.

So it was with some amusement that we (a Pan Am 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground control and a British Airways 747 (call sign "Speedbird 206") after landing:

Speedbird 206: "Top of the morning Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of the active runway."

Ground: "Guten morgen!

You will taxi to your

gate!"

The big British Airways 747 pulled onto the main taxiway and slowed to a stop.

Ground: "Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?" Speedbird 206: "Stand by a moment ground, I'm looking up our gate location now."

Ground (with some arrogant

impatience): "Speedbird 206, you have never flown to Frankfurt before?!?"

Speedbird 206 (coolly): "Yes, I have, in 1944. In

another type of Boeing... but I didn't stop."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a Pan Am 727 Flight Engineer waiting for start clearance in Munich, Germany.

This was the conversation overheard:
Lufthansa (In German):

"Ground, what is our start clearance time?"

Ground (In English):

"If you want an answer you must speak English."

Lufthansa (In English):

"I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany. Why must I speak

English?"

Beautiful English Accent (before ground could answer):

"Because you lost the bloody war!"

Bribie Island was a WW2 garrison with gun emplacements, submarine detection and searchights, most of the old bunkers etc are still there. A search along the bank on the passage side with a metal detector unearths 1939-41 coins, military buckles and buttons, It would be great to do the same search at the bunkers, but it is national park, so not allowed. Moreton island has the same sort of bunkers etc.

Fn sad place that, I remember in the early 90's some friends said they were "going out", I thought why not, we get there and they start playing the pokies, I thought WTF, yep rows of young people stuck like fn zombies. They are probably still there, just have their little sprogs in the creche, such a fn sad place. Bribie has the same shit as well, how fkd life must be if that is a night out.

I went to Gallipoli a couple of times, before it was trendy (there were still wrecks of landing craft on the beach) and long before they put up that monstrosity of a memorial that is there now,but it was interesting to note, that even though the guns had been removed, from the bunkers, the mechanisms they were mounted on were well greased and in perfect working order

Have not touched a Pokie, since they removed that handle from off the side, and put a row of buttons for you to push.It was like being taken out of a manual car,and being shoved in a Valiant AP5 (6) ,with push button auto.NO control of your own destiny! oopsie.gif They didn't call them 'one arm bandits' for nothing

I cannot begin to think of the fn stupidity of landing at a place like that, what hope did the poor soldiers have, I never got down there, now it is a huge wankfest I believe, like a bigdayout festival with people leaving their shit everywhere.
I was very surprised in Crete how many people spoke so highly of the Australians and they way they did not abandon them during the war and fought to save them from the Germans.

My brother has a German GF, there was a bit of a bother when cleaning out his poppas houses when they moved in and came across the WW2 stash of SS kit and knives and Jap stuff, seems the "don't mention the war " memo hadn't been sent to old veterans, we started on the Fawtly Towers skit, her lack of humour about it was the same.

As for pokies, I think the old one arms had a bit of shits and giggles about them, but the new ones, just looks like a battery egg production line, mouth breathing low breeds with their gray faces and dull minds stimulated by the colours and flashes in the faint hope that this will drag them from their banal existence

Can't say for sure, but very similar design as some on the west coast of Sweden, is it the old Svinesund bridge?, too high to do a Bombie off anyway, centre of Stockholm for that, lol

It is/was the bridge between Sweden and Norway,Boss thinks it's been replaced, but yes, high, you would get a few 'Hail Mary's' in before you hit the water
