The plan is to keep the exterior "period correct" same with the interior which is going to be redone in simlar materials as the original, possibly a little extra bolstering and support in the front bench, she's soft as f**k atm. But under the bonnet, I'm wanting something nice. I just need to find a motor that will run both gas and petrol and get it tuned correctly. And find a way to hide all the hideous bits of the gas conversion... |

Probably retarded as fook question to ask, but looking for a 308 or 350 short motor. Where is the best place to pick them up from. Probably second hand, unless someone knows of somewhere where I can pick one up new relatively cheaply. Its not a retarded question to ask - its the exact reason why we have a pre-85 section! |

i get 100ks out of 11L of fuel, in my ute, 202 of course. Looks like ill be getting back on track and repairing some rust ect in my ute. Only problem is i have no shelter, im looking at buying one of those ""portable carports" basically just a gazebo with zip up walls. does anyone know where i can buy one online or in a state wide store like repco ect? had a look on ebay but i cant find any suitable ones cheers EDIT: This looks perfect, good price? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-DURABLE-CON...=item2a22379bcf http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-st...983#Description Supercheap have those bad boys. I will have the same problem as you with no shelter when I acquire this bad boy from a family member. |

Well on Christmas day i got to have a good look at out family heirloom my great grandfathers HG kingswood, for the last 8 years it has been sitting in a driveway uncovered in the Tasmanian weather. Before that it was in the hands of my father, he was in an accident and smashed the passenger front guard. I had a good look over the car Christmas day and i think its in great nick! The car is a sky blue with a white vinyl roof (vinyl removed) the exterior is straight as except for the passenger front guard, the car has rust in one of the doors and other than that it is mint its all original except in the past 8 years one of my cousins replaced the front bench with buckets and had the seats re trimmed, he also disconnected the column manual and converted it to a floor shift, But as Ive stepped up for he car another family member has baraged in and apparently wants the car, jealousy of course. So Hopefully ill be in possession of a 186 powered HG kingswood in the coming months. |

Chuck in some random spin like grandad told me his plans he wanted for it, and make up your plans and say I will fulfill his plans etc. |

Yeah. The only real hurdle is convincing the family, as if i get it i plan to bring it back up to qld with me. You dont need to convince the family of such things. You simply... inform them. |
