300-500kg's is half a sec - 1sec slower down the 1/4 mile easily

That amount could be 4 occupants in the car. It does make a difference.

Huge difference. Especially in cars that make no torque ie VTEC

I guess what I am saying is an extra 300 - 500kgs in a car with an extra 2 - 4 cylinders is somewhat relevant?

should ahve herd them all in the clem 7 <3

try being next to them on a bike, that red gts was so loud and i sat behind the fd with the melted rear bar my eyes started to burn from the exhaust gas...top night tho. Sadly i didnt get a chance to go around for a look around the carpark, too many people wanted to chat.

I love my imports but what's the use of having boost with a decent size turbo at 5k on a street car, I'd rather have 500rwhp @ 5500 rpm compared to , 500 @ 7-8000rpm.

You're not wrong, it's all about delivery innit. For example, a comparison between a ~41psi SR20DET and an NA ~9L v8 (carby, not EFI):

I think I know which torque curve I would prefer tongue.gif

I'm laughing at you thinking 300/500kg is "not much heavier".

Werd.

No. lol.

500kg is almost half my car's body weight...
Fk by comparison, an 89 Integra only weights 900kg.

Yeah, but an Integra is a 4 cyl and what is it's power output? probably like 140kws at the fly! Add another 4 cyls, another 500kg and double the power it would be fairly relevant?

So, what you're saying is everything can be cured by power?

I am just saying that the power to weight ratios are pretty much all relevant? (I am basing this on factory standard vehicles)

yeah the extra power makes them equal in a drag race, but 500kg effects everything not just straight line go. it's not really something you can get around when looking at vehicles in that class though.. all modern saloons weigh around that much. got fairly good balance too, helps hide the weight a little

That would be inertia

If you started off touching the wall and started to push it, that would be an exercise in how many torques you have
