ok what he is saying is that due to his research he thinks its only a rb20 e but the guy that sold it to him said its a de which there is avery good chance it is . I understand why you want to move from a shitty silvia to a nicer more presentable car , not every one wants to drive around a bucket of shit so they can pretend there a drift champion in the maccas car park like a lot of people on here . As far as mods there really isnt to much you can do on any sensible budget to an engine like that, sure there is cams , extractors ,head work and so on but it will get dear quick and only give small gains . I recommend you just make sure the car is running rite as nissan meant it to and leave it like that untill you get off your p's . Do other mods on the car but not the engine . Ignore all there sr is arrow sign than this crap an sr20de and a rb20de have the same power there just alot of people around who think sr20's are the greatest engine because there yet to drive a full sized engine . thanks heaps man, at least i know theres some people willing to help. i think ill just keep it stock untill im off my p's and drop an eingine that someone else has spent all there hard earned money on, i havent driven the car yet, the guy is bringing it in 2 days from nsw, im sure that it has enough power anyway. my silvia was running like shit because it had blocked injectors and advanced timing to get the ecu outa the mode when it floods n shit so anything will be better. just thought there might have been something i could have done to the skyline while i was waiting. |

QUOTE 92 nissan silvia s13, runs fairly well for a non turbo, 5 spd manual, has a locked diff for drifting, it needs a bit of love, but it is a great car i put a bodykit on it, 4 brand new tyres, has a very loud exhaust awesome car to get on the drift scene. you drop the clutch and the car sends you sideways its alot of fun, but is too much of a cop magnet for a p plater like myself has rego untill the 25th of feb 2011 it currently has a slide out dvd head unit with tv and stuff also has a sub and 2 speakers sound system is awesome, i will throw it in for 500 bux 2500 for the car 500 for the sound system and dvd player. call or txt me on 04****** if you want any pics or anything just ask. Your Add doesnt mention this? Wonder if the guy your swapping knows? |

I have driven a r33 that are rb20de with a 5speed box and found it would have the power for any P plater to run around town in. I think you should put your money into sus, stopping power and tyres |

Drop 25de in Australia has enough turbo 33's sell it to a p plater when you get your full licence then buy a real skyline or turbo import This. do the swap for immediate power increase. look after it until you get your opens, sell it and buy something closer to what your after. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com probably a better place to ask your original question. generally they would have a better knowledge base of these engines. |

no you cant drop one in and still be legal cause the 33s never came out with neo motors so youd need a mod plate therefore making it illegal for p platers, but if your on opens then go right ahead I'd like to see you point out the difference between a neo and a normal RB25. Please, tell me. |

RB25de should go into all commodores, complete bolt in/wires all join up. Its P plate legal also, because commodores are 3.8L stock and the RB25DE is 2.5L, therefore you are not increasing engine size, so its ok and fully legal. i believe this would be the better option. This man is on the money. |

Only if its not modified is it legal though. |
