My bitch today is the stupid idiot who thought it was a good idea to limit P platers to 80KPH! Whilst travelling on the highway between Hobart and Launnie, I came around the corner doing 110, only to encounter a P plater puttering along at 80Ks!! Thats 30ks an hour slower than I was travelling! I nearly ran up the poor buggers arse!! The stupid thing about this is that we were both doing the legal speed limit!
The problem is, the traffic then builds up behind them until, out of frustration, some impatient idiot pulls out to pass them at the least safest time! This rule is riduculous and needs reviewing before someone gets killed!

Yea the old man and I were going to pick up my silv on the trailer and there was like 3 cars in front of us, 3 behind us and some tool overtook the whole lot when there was no overtaking lane.

As a P plater I know how it feels. Trucks are the worst. I wait till I get to bottom of hill ad slow right down on them if they tailgating me, drop back a gear and take off. I understand the frustration of fully licenced drivers however everyone needs to remember that they were once P platers also and had to go through the exact same thing!

Yeah man, Im not blaming the P Plater, they are only doing what they are allowed to do, Im just saying that it is not safe having a car doing 30ks slower than everyone else! People get frustrated and do stupid things! As for truckies, its difficult for them to maintain momentum a lot of the time if they have a full load on. It can be hard for them to drop back to 80ks!

being one of the p platers who travels up the midlands alot due to tafe etc i feel your pain when i see 10 + cars up my arse. to counter this problem, if theres no overtaking lanes etc, i usually pull over when ive got a big enough line up, and let them all go.


as for slowing right down in front of truckies.. FUCK THAT im to scared the driver will think "fuck it, ill push him outta the way"

I work with trucks everyday like 10 yard tippers us such so a little log truck etc not going to scare me. I got a fair idea how long it takes a loaded truck to slow down so if they wanna tailgate me then fark them!

I had a mate watch his missus driving in front of him and they were both doing 80. AS the overtakig lane ended and they had to merge, he said this log truck came flying through and near ran her off the road. Instances like this that have to be investigated, however the fags and suits would probably just say it is a rare occurance!

Yea long distance drives on the highway is a pain. I gotta go from Launie to Burnie and back today with a trailer to get another S13 so it going to be one of those days today.

Hopefully I have some more stupid stories of impatient drivers for all tonight lol

Ill bet in every single instance where there is an accident in this situation, the P Plater wouuld get the blame! The other stupid thing about this rule is that sooner or later the P plater becomes a fully licensed driver and is allowed to go the full legal limit. SO pow, they are suddenly travelling 30kph faster with absolutly no experience! Its just the stupidest thing ever and Ive never heard of it in other countries, it certainly isint the law where I come from.
On the other hand, in NZ they have another law which Im sure you P platers would love. You are not allowed to drive between the hours of 6pm and 6am without a fully locensed person in the car! Sure cuts down on the amount of P plate hooning if they arent allowed to cruise the streets at night

Had a great night out until I had to deal with that shit. Hobart has gone to hell... Its a fantastic feeling taking someone out for the first time in Tasmania (someone from another country) after convincing them to take a break here because its so relaxing and having to deal with that.

I think in some ways its fair enough, cause the amount of money put into some cars there is no possible way you could get that back, so another way to stop such a big loss is to swap for something with similar amounts of coin thrown at them.
