prob around 150 and 2 points

speeding is speeding

and speed camera's are good for about 1-2% over not 10%

Wrong + wrong.

OP: If you were doing 65/60 you won't get a ticket.

Did you see the flash go off?

65/60 is possible, but haven't heard many of them before.

I've heard about 10 over but no points, just a fine.

But here is the system:

This is correct, I don't know why people are saying you wont get fined, My dad got done for 63 in a 60 zone while overtaking a truck going down hill.

Yes you can get done for it.

Yes it has happened before, many times.

By rights there shouldnt be a loophole, the first penalties are from 1-13km/h over the limit.

1 Point and whatever the fine is.

lol @ the dick heads that are like 'yeh fully bro you're allowed 10%, thats why they make the signs 60k not 66k etc"

I think they are all different ... I've passed 9ks over, 1K over, 3.4ks over ... Never got done ... But then a friend got done for doing 3ks over & I got done for 15ks over ... Not saying each Van is different but I agree there is a bit of levarage there because of peoples speedos being 'out' from factory ... =\ Unless your a Speed Cam Van Police person, don't think you'd know 100% ...

Please dont give wrong advice.

There is no leverage for speedos being out, that is the responsibilty of the driver.

Also speedos come out saying you are going 60 when in actual fact you are going a little bit less, to stop people using this as an excuse, so i have been told.

Hey guys does the flash go off even at day time? I went through one in birkdale picking my gf up from school the other day. Saw it, hit the brakes, looked down and i think i was doing about 75 tongue.gif (60 zone)

Might be rocking no licence soon i think lol. How many points is 15 over? Hopefully it didnt get me for too much or at all. Still waiting on a ticket to come if it does. Might end up buying my cousins points instead so i still have all 4

people dont relise that as soon as ur 1km over they can get you they dont normally get you thou.
however if u were to stand up in court n say that u were 1km over u would be gone its only a small fine n like 1 point sometime not even that. You have the option to challange any fine in court but if you admit to being over its not point.
Also you should know if u got done or not the flash is bright as n cant be missed

Brad91
Post #32

o rly? thats wrong. As soon as the car leaves the dealer ship floor, all responsibility is then presumed onto the new owner. For Example: Car dealerships can sell cars with mag wheels on them, ordered/picked out by a client. The client can also pick the tyre profile. If they profile is illegal, the owner may be cautioned (hardly happens) and the wheels are put on anyway. If they are illegal, and the owner got pulled up 5 minutes down the road from the dealership, tough shit.

OK lets get technical, Here is the current fine and demerit point penalties for speeding in Queensland-

Less than 13 kilometres per hour (km/h) over the speed limit:
A$133 + one demerit point.
At least 13 km/h but not more than 20 km/h over the speed limit:
A$200 + three demerit points.
More than 20 km/h but not more than 30 km/h over the speed limit:
A$333 + four demerit points.
More than 30 km/h but not more than 40 km/h over the speed limit:
A$466 + six demerit points.
More than 40 km/h over the speed limit:
A$933 + eight demerit points and six month suspension.

Now the one relevent to you is the first one, any speed under 13km/h over the limit can be fined, even 1km/h if they realy want to (although this is highly unlikely) Some police officers do give a 10% leeway on this but this is in no way actualy a legal requirement or anything like that, it is completely the officers discretion to give you the fine or not.
If you have been hit my a stationary camera and it has flashed you, you can be 95% sure you will receive the fine because in that case it is not realy an officers decission to fine you or not, it's pretty much an automated process from there. The camera has recorded you at a speed over the limit, even if it was under 10% over, and therefor penalties are warented.

Anyway you can relax, it's only 1 point.
