dont change diff gears!!! GET A TUNE!!! $1000 for a tune + high flow panel filter + airbox mod (google monaro airbox mod) and you will get 300rwhp (i think, not kw but still awesome) and it should return atleast 12-14l/100kms city and even down to 8 on the highway (these are all off the top of my head btw, did some research for a friend a while ago) also, auto or manual? and what kind of a load do you carry daily? its already making between 260-270rwkw. has a 232-234 cam cold air etc see damoyz's crewman ss in members rides!! don't carry a load really at all. 6sp man |

if you get a propper tune it should be easy to get atleast 400 to a tank but how hard do u drive it with diff gears its really only one or the other high ratio = faster accel but higher engine speed on the highway low ratio = slower accel but lower engine speed but if its anything like my mates vy ss you can only really get into 6th at 110kmh did u get it tuned when the cam went in or just a power run? could be a case of a tuner just tuning for power and not partial throttle maps a user on here had a twin turbo ss ute (not crewman tho) auto that would get 12l/100kms easily and maybe even 700kms on the highway its all in the tune ok, i spoke to kent at hitorque and he said it would need a tune after the exhaust went in but maybe they only did a power run? i've also been told there is a overlap in the manifolds because of the cam and would maybe need headwork to suit? i'm def no expert, i bought the ute as is. i do know that the diff is different in the crewman to a two door. ps thanx for your help. |

Crewmans are a heavy rig mate BUT in saying that you should be getting a bit more than that to a tank... |

its an ls1. i have been told 411's are the go but i'm worried about highway revs, but i guess my fuel consumption can only get better! what headwork do you think i should get? kent at hitorque told me i'd make 10-20rwkw because the old exhaust on it was so untidy. that is where i got that figure. i'm sorry i don't know what an m6 is, i'm not much of a mechanic. |

you've got to ask yourself how much highway driving do you do? I sit on around 2000rpms @ 110kph and still retain good economy but are hardly ever on highways when I do drive the ute. Economy too is in the tune, without diagrams or screen dumps that would confuse you it is possible to get better economy with alterations to the tune. Problem with a lot of shops is they tune to peak power as thats what is the general expectation of the customer. |

m6 is manual 6 speed, just slang how much highway do you do? not that much, that being said i don't wanna go for a long drive and have to fuel up every 400kms. i think i'll get the 411's i'm sick of little cars being quicker off the line..... even if its only for 10mtrs!! next question.... the radiator keeps dumping coolant, its the second radiator i've put in, nothin special just a standard 1. the first 1 had a crack in it and looks like the second 1 is the same. it can't be the head gasket or i wouldn't have been able to smoke that r33 the other night so i'm puzzled. PLEASE HELP!! |

the std rads are good for big HP in the LSx's, PWR ones are an expensive non requirement. where is the coolant dropping from that is the question? the rad taks do get hairline fractures in them also the heater taps on commodores can fail easily. |

thought Id add to, is yours a VY or VZ??? The VY uses the older rad with the external reservoir the VZ uses the rad with no reservoir its a vy, me and my mechanic mate had a look and ii looks to be comind out of the drivers side tank on the side of the radiator. is this common? i'm fucken over it!! |

if he keeps braking stock ones he may as well go for a nice shiny one its a crewman so it could be up for some hard work towing etc its deff over kill but gives piece of mind really Theres 800hp cars running std radiators the PWR style ones have shown no gain. My VU had a hairline in the right tank, I welded it up at work (plastic weld to keep things clear). Stick with OEM gear mate, you can pick one up for less than $200. |
