Hi guys just wanting someone to build me a 355 stroker for my VH, I have the engine and acl stroker kit. Just wondering ehat else is involved and a rough price?? If anyone has built a stroker before and want to earn extra cash let me know. This engine will be for street use only and will only be driven 2-3 times per month as i work in WA. Also just to let you know I am from beaudesert QLD.

pretty sure you have to machine out the block and notch stuff so the rods don't hit the bores and other stuff

do it right the first time and take it to a machine shop

^^^^this . . . . if its an early 308 you have to clearance the block to allow for the extra throw in the crank, later vn onwards (i believe) are already setup to take the bigger crank from factory. A good machine shop will be your friend, sidenote stay away from anything procomp.
Do it once do it right.

ery pricey. my mate got quoted $10000 to do a 355. thats drive in drive out. i spent well ower that just on parts for mine. easy enough to build though just take time to get them right. if u get stuck send me a pm. i can build it but as stated i will be sending to engine shop to be clearenced. and stroker kit needs to be balanced as they dont come balanced.

My 355 is based on a HT 308 matching RED heads 2 bolt mains, clearanced for the crank, which is a C.O.M.E item I wouldnt use anything other than theirs or a HARROP (All the rest are shit) These 2 companies have been doing it right for years with proven results! Ive got Lunati I-Beam rods, TRW 12.5:1 pistons Crane CC-288 solid cam and a Edelbrock Torker manifold. The heads are only RED castings from a ht, with L-34 intakes, standard exhausts and some very intricate port work from the boys at Craigsted Performance (Formerly CRAGAR Performance..The good old days!). This combo with a Metho 750 D-pumper resulted in my 3400 pound HQ sedan running a best of 10.83 @ 123.79 mph. Allbeit with a precise Trimatic and a 5200 convertor from the Convertor shop, and a 9-inch with 4-11's. This was with the dizzy locked up @ 31' total. I ran it out at Willowbank for about 7 years, and racked up plenty of street miles as well, all this with 1 freshen up, hone, rings bearings, cam, springs and lifters! Never had a problem!
