Having probs atm with leaking coolant. The hose was split so the mechanic replaced it 2 weeks ago. Since then it has been fine unless you give it a gut ful. How can i stop it?



Ive been told there is some sealant shit u can put in that will stop the leaking, but i dont want muck around with the car as its 2 complicated for my simple knowledge!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif



Any help is appreciated!

leaking around the hose? You should probably replace the fitting as well as the hose as the fitting will be all pitted with corossion and stopping the hose from sealing properly.

Take it back to the mechanic asap, because technically its his problem to fix.

Check the tightness of the hose clamps?

Maybe the outlet has cracked where it joins the radiator?

Don't put that stop leak in your radiator. It's highly dangerous shit if you don't do it right. If the host has just been replaced, maybe it's the attachment your fitting it to. Might be corroded or broken.

race tape! we used some to fix a major leak from a snail coolant hose, at yatala. and continued on down the coast for the night wink.gif



it lasted till the next day!.



im sure resin will soon back this claim up as it was his idea

lmao @ mAJORD. Thanks for the advice ppls, not sure if the mechanic used new fittings but its goin back in tommorow. Paolo ur lancer is only just better then mine, but i dont care, im trying to save for a WRX! Should only take 3-4 years!

Well our car had the same prob, keeps going back with coolant leaks, this time is the water pump... :x
