I just did a quick google search for 'sigma engine conversion' and found a whole bunch. The V6 VN Commodore conversion would be relatively cheap, since almost any wrecker has a few hundred of them lying around...

Moral of the story, try google. Someone here may have the answer, but have a look yourself too!

The newer (but definately not new) Sigma's had EFI... you could go that route. Or the turbo version as well. Each has it's own pro's and con's.

I personally would sell the whole thing and get something else.

Have you seen the price of cars lately? The have dramatically dropped over the past 2 years or so.

A CA18DET would be fun, but you could run into reliability problems. I'm not shittin on the CAs, just they like to chew head gaskets. They are a great little motor, but you should probably keep it Mitsu. Keep it in the family. Simply converting to EFI for a start would probably give you some gains, and work from there. Really, it's up to you. Good luck

Naturally aspirated 12a or 13b maybe with some porting ???

The size of the engine will mean it is a piece of piss fit, there will be some custom fabrication needed, but then name an engine conversion where there isnt.

personally id go a 13b bridge port... would be very fun indeed biggrin.gif

Try and contact Monstabishi in Sydney, they've done heaps to Sigma's in the past.
Also try this link and site: http://www.turbocreations.com/cordiaturbo/coolsigma.html

351 cleveland has been done not sure bout legality side.
v6 commodore available from www.v6conversions.com
there is a whole bunch but the diff wont cope much and u cant get an lsd for them so theres more $$$ needed for a custom u will need to alter the trans tunnel for most other gearboxes.

the most reliable and fuel efficient i say would be a later model vs vt commodore 3.8 lt.

but for the money u spend it aint worth it.

does anyone know how heavy sigma's are?
I'm assuming they're not too light considering V8 conversions are legal

i think u may find with the wagon u should be able to fit anything upto 5.6ltr n/a and 4.4 ltr forced one motor i think would be awesome and not mentioned is a quad cam lexus 8 pick up front cuts for about 1500 and the v6 is the other option if ya want reliability and fit quite nicely.
