G'day all...

Time has come for me to upgrade my std T28 turbo. Currently i have made power figures of 234hp at the wheels with these major mods
-FMIC
-Exhaust
-Pod
-16psi

To give you some idea for when reccommending i use the car mainly for drag racing and would like 200+kw at the wheels.

Thanks

personally i would head for a disco potato (or HKS GTRS) as they can make 200+KW but are still VERY responsive biggrin.gif (a bit pricey tho)

use pretty much the same turbos used for that power aim in silvias and such......e.g. hks 2540...mate had one on his s13 and reliably got 230rwkw....there good cos theyve been around for awhile n can find some used ones.....or if u want to spend a lil extra get a hks gt-rs they cost more as they are fairly new they offer a bit more power, and mainly it spools up earlier.....with the 2540 decent boost was starting at 3300rpm

deva has hit the nail on the head in this case imo.. bang for buck, the garrett gt28rs disco potato for sure.. will handle up to 500hp, and still very comfortable on the street.. suprisingly quick spool... its what i will be using when i upgrade for sure!!

its all well and good to suggest hks turbos but they are dam expensive!! the money could be better spent i rekon.. but if your willing to spend the money go for it thumbsup.gif

No dramas fitting any of these turbos on std manifold clearance wise?

unfortunately i cant help you there mate.. the disco potato will bolt straight on to the standard manifold.. dunno bout clearance on your east-west engine though.. i know its not a problem in the rear wheel drive sr's.. it should be fine cause its not a monstrous turbo.. does the job but tongue.gif

Im doing this upgrade on a customers car at the moment. there is NO room in there for a turbo even fractionally bigger without some modifications. im thinking serious modifications from what ive measured up.

im actually thinking along the lines of a disco potato (Garrett) or GT-RS (HKS if the budget is up to it). But even then im unsure if that will fit. Maybe a 25/30 or something fractionally bigger than stock. Possibly Hi-Flow the stock unit.....

i would go with what boosteds15 said
HI FLOW ya stock one, come on just the same but with heaps more power
i get subaru stocko's done all the time and for the $$$$$ they are awesome compare to some of the rbb turbo's currently sold as direct bolt ons

personally id forget the idea of replacing your turbo until youve upgraded your fuel syatem and management.....the T28s on GTi_rs are bigger than S15 turbos and my S14 makes over 200rwkW with stock T28 with the same mods as u but fuel system and management

if u get a bigger tubo with stock mnagement u wont be able to make the most of it......as its always said....'its all in the tuning"
