A work collegue of mine is looking at buying an FTO, now I don't know too much about these cars so anyone with a little knowledge would be great. Basically is it a good car to buy for someone that's not looking for a HUGE performer?

Would they cost a lot to repair etc?

Help Please! smile.gif

The Mivec models do a 16.0 second flat on the 1/4 mile...

They were voted Japanese sports car of the year in 1998(?)

They are a very nice car, handle superbly.

Basically a mitsubishi version of a prelude, but 6cyl and lots more stylish. The engine sounds a treat with a good exhaust... almost like a bike engine.

They wouldn't be the cheapest car to repair.

For the same money, you can do better. Say maybe buy a non-import, for insureance reasons etc, SSS pulsar would come to mind.

Yep... they have similar straight line performance...

but, come to corners the SSS is left for dead... and IMHO the SSS has nothing in style compared to the FTO.

Trivia Question: What does FTO stand for... ?

Thanks guys for all your advice. Cams116 he is looking for a more stylish, classy, sporty sort of car [possible mid life crisis perhaps?] so a SSS is probably a little below his standards smile.gif

Thanks Hoon for the post.. will check it out
