VP V6 Manual Gearbox Conversion
Hey, i have a S2 VP V6 Auto, and a VN S2 Manual. Going to be putting the manual box in the VP.

Now im all good with most of the conversion, but im unsure about the wiring, will i have to change the whole looms over? can i get away with just changing the wiring going to the gearbox? (Under centre console) and plugging in the manual computer or will i have to do a loom swap?

Thanks

hey mate just done this conversion to my vr ...

you can not run an auto loom with a manual ecu or vice versa they are different plugs(manual black auto is blue and are a different size)

you can swap the loom over to manual and run a manual ecu but you might get error codes because the auto motors run a cam angle sensor the manual motors dont you are supposed to get them remapped for the t5 box...

you can run the auto ecu and loom tho you have to bridge the the neutral saftey switch so it will start and rewire the reverse lights tho you will still get error codes and the car will idle higher then normal and may stall when you put it in neutral and coast the car..

you will have to rewire the spped sensor also but thats easy as no matter how you go about it

or you could do wat i did i got one of these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Holden-Commodore-VR...%3A1%7C294%3A50

i have one in my car and am more then happy with them its like a factory car then no error codes idles normaly and they have a 17kw extra tune put onto the ecu and wiring for reverse lights speed sensor and neutral saftey switch i highly recomend hope this helps mate....

should get away with just removing the shifter with the wiring and plug in your manual wiring. looms oly need chaning on the vr onwards i believe.

just a reminder to the previous posters, the vr gearboxs are completely different to the vp the vrs have a bcm as well as a computer which is completley different set up. the vn/vp s1 and s2 only have the computer.. im sure you would only need a manual computer and change the stuff under the centre console like you said

BOOTS JUNKEY ) just read through your post and tried to open the link to ebay. But its not listed on ebay anymore and was wondering what it was. Like an ecu or something?

Cheers mate
