Hey guys.

I have decided after alot of thinking and of course reasoning with the misses (lol)

its time to do the SR conersion to my SV1800 astra.
i've taken it into STZ performance at North gate, brisbane they are asking 8K for the front bump SR20 turbo motor.. thats drive in and drivee away price plus 800 for custom drivies if they will be needed.
Does this sound reasonable?? and suggestions on where i should begin or be going to see?

Also and ideas one a panel shop that does real nice paint work wanting to spray it HOT candy Apple red, with the decals air bushed on..

any help would be sic.

Cheers guys,

Will throw some pics up soon, she is a perfect genuine example of a SV1800 phs II biggrin.gif

if its a rare type of astra then dont touch it as you'll just destroy the resale value
sell it and but a cheap astra with a blown motor and then ur sr20 in
but i'd get a quote from somewhere else

The 'front bump' SR20DET is a RWD engine so it will not work in your car unless your converting it to RWD. Not sure why they quoted you on that setup :S

Your also wasting your time with a TT SR20 as a properly setup single turbo has much more power potential and a hell of a lot less turbo lag than have 1L feeding each turbo wink.gif

GTiR engine with a FWD SR20DE gearboxm ECU and wiring loom will set you back about $4K and the driveshafts are a bolt in proposition to the N13 hubs. Engine mounts are custom made but fuel system and a FMIC are easy work.

Personally, I think you need to keep reading wink.gif $8K is a lot of coin for that conversion...
