Is anyone able to list the differences between an M-spec R32 and the "normal" ones?

I have heard that they have bigeer brakes......is that true?
Do they have more power? better interior?

Thanks for the help thumbsup.gif

I'm not sure about R32's, but I know I have the optioned R33 M-Spec with the hydraulic diff (same as a GTR)... so I'm not sure whether the R32 had the same thing.

Do the R32 M spec come with the same wheels as an R32 GTR? They have blue guage dials....is that only on M specs'?

Are all of them LSD?

Come on people..........surely someone must know tunes.gif

Try going on skylines australia. I belive there is 42 differences or something. But then, many of those were also options. Hey, Jap cars, who the hell knows.

awfully hard to know the differences between every make and model. especially when it comes down the wierdest little things like blue dials.

And then with all the "optional" extras etc.

Thats one thing about aussie built cars. you buy it.........air con is an option and you drive home. tunes.gif If only it was that easy everywhere.

As far as my understanding goes, All R33 skylines are M-Spec.

R32 M-Spec =

Different steering wheel
Different body kit
Bigger brakes
Slightly different suspension
Engine and driveline are the same
And they didn't have blue dials as standard

Cmon guys. On 32s and 33s there is no such thing as 'M spec'. It's 'Type M'.

Most of the diffs have already been stated. The non type m's didn't have sideskirts as far as i know. But having said that, many items were offered as options. I heard that all GTS-t models came with LSD. The blue dials were offered on series 1 models i think.

i thought it was a helashial *spelling* diff, in the GTR's and S15's not hydrolic, when i had a problem with mine, i asked nissan what sort it was and they said it was helashial *sp* and the same as the gt-r's.

on the topic of type m skylines, i thought the difference was purely cosmetic like the spec s and spec r s15's in oz. NOT in japan.

Do you mean heliptical diff? As is a mechanical diff, rather than a vicous (sp) couplin?

BoostedS15
Post #14

thats the one. its different to a viscous lsd. something about power transfer.

so does this mean that a type M R32 has a diff that is basically a meachanical diff from standard? Were they all fitted with lsd?

the type m r32 GTS-t was along side a normal GTS-t up to 8/1991 after this they only made type M's. So anything after the august 1991 is a type m for the GTS-t.

-the type m skyline has 4 pot callipers at the front same as the r32 GTR.
-it has a set of 16*6 wheels, the GTR wheel looks similar but are a darker color and are a 16*8 wheel
-a type m will do a 0-100 in aprox 6.3 seconds where a normal gts-t will do aprox 7.0 sec (reviewed engine management on m)
-type m comes with a leather cased stearing wheel.
-most have fog lights on them.

someone said they may have a bigger turbo, any1 know on that 1?

blue dials are only on the prior term r32 gts-t's. That's August 1991 and before hand
and all GTS-t's have LSD.
