Auto reverse function

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.

WARNING

There are some small distances imme- diately before the closed position which cannot be detected. Make sure that all passengers have their hands, etc., in- side the vehicle before closing the window.

If the control unit detects something caught in the window as it is closing, the window will be immediately lowered.

The auto reverse function can be activated when the window is closed by automatic operation when the ignition switch is in the ON position or for 45 seconds after the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position.

Depending on the environment or driving conditions, the auto reverse function may be activated if an impact or load similar to something being caught in the window occurs.

If the windows do not close automatically If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system.

2. Close the door.

3. Open the window more than halfway by

operating the power window switch.

4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely.

5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.

6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other

windows.

If the power window automatic function does not operate properly after performing the pro- cedure above, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer.

Automatic operation (for front door win- dows) To fully open or close the window, completely push down or pull up the switch and release it; it need not be held. The window will automatically open or close all the way. To stop the window, just push or the switch in the opposite direction.

A light push or pull on the switch will cause the window to open or close until the switch is released.

AUTOMATIC MOONROOF AND SUN- SHADES The moonroof and sunshades only operates when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

The automatic moonroof and sunshades are operational for about 45 seconds, even if the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position. If the driver’s door or the passenger’s door is opened during this period of about 45 seconds, power to the moonroof and sunshades is canceled.

MOONROOF (if so equipped)

WARNING

In an accident you could be thrown from the vehicle through an open moonroof. Always use seat belts and child restraints.

. Do not allow anyone to stand up or extend any portion of their body out of the moonroof opening while the vehicle is in motion or while the moonroof is closing.

CAUTION

. Remove water drops, snow, ice or sand from the moonroof before opening.

. Do not place any heavy object on the moonroof or surrounding area. . Do not push or pull on the sun- shade. Doing so can damage the sunshade.

operation, push either of the OPEN *1 , CLOSE *2 or UP *5 of the switch. Tilting moonroof To tilt up the moonroof, push the moonroof switch to the up position *5 . To tilt down the moonroof, push the switch to the up position *5 or push the CLOSE side *2 of the switch.

When the moonroof is tilted up, push the CLOSE side of the moonroof switch to the second detent *4 . The moonroof will tilt down and the sunshades will close.

Auto reverse function

HomeLink® UNIVERSAL TRANSCEIVER (if so equipped)

HomeLink® Universal Transceiver provides a convenient way to consolidate the functions of up to three individual hand-held transmitters into one built-in device. HomeLink® Universal Transceiver: . Will operate most Radio Frequency (RF) devices such as garage doors, gates, home and office lighting, entry door locks and security systems.

Is powered by your vehicle’s battery. No separate batteries are required. the vehicle’s battery is discharged or is dis- connected, HomeLink® will retain all pro- gramming.

Once HomeLink® Universal Transceiver is programmed, retain the original transmit- ter for future programming procedures (Example: new vehicle purchases). Upon sale of the programmed HomeLink® Universal Transceiver buttons should be erased for security purposes. For additional information, see “PRO- GRAMMING HomeLink®” later in this sec- tion.

If the indicator light on HomeLink® blinks rapidly for two seconds and then turns solid, HomeLink® has picked up a “rolling code” garage door opener signal. You will need to proceed with the next steps to train Home- Link®, completing the programming may require a ladder and another person for convenience.

6. Push and release the program button located on the garage door opener’s motor to activate the “training mode”. This button is usually located near the antenna wire that hangs down from the motor. the wire originates from under a light lens, you will need to remove the lens to access the training button.

1. To begin, push and hold the 2 outer Home- Link® buttons (to clear the memory) until the indicator light *A blinks (after 20 seconds). Release both buttons.

3. Using both hands, simultaneously push and hold both the HomeLink® button you want to program and the hand-held transmitter button.

2. Position the end of the hand-held transmitter 1 to 3 in (20 to 70 mm) away from the HomeLink® surface.

DO NOT release the buttons until step 4 has been completed.

4. Hold down both buttons until the indicator light on HomeLink® flashes, changing from a “slow blink” to a “rapid blink”. This could take up to 90 seconds. When the indicator light blinks rapidly, both buttons may be released. The rapidly flashing light indicates successful programming. 8. Your HomeLink® button should now be programmed. To program the remaining HomeLink® buttons for additional door or gate openers, follow steps 2 through 8 only.

NOTE: Do not repeat step 1 unless you want to “clear” all previously programmed Home- Link® buttons.

PROGRAMMING HomeLink® FOR CA- NADIAN CUSTOMERS Prior regulations required hand-held transmitters to stop transmitting after 2 seconds. To program your hand-held trans- mitter to HomeLink®, continue to push and hold the HomeLink® button (note steps 2 through 4
under “Programming HomeLink®”) while you push and re-push (“cycle”) your hand-held transmitter every 2 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly (indicating successful pro- gramming).

NOTE: If programming a garage door opener, etc.,

it is advised to unplug the device during the “cycling” process to prevent possible damage to the garage door opener com- ponents.

OPERATING THE HomeLink® UNIVER- SAL TRANSCEIVER HomeLink® Universal Transceiver (once pro- grammed) may now be used to activate the garage door, etc. To operate, simply push the appropriate programmed HomeLink® Universal Transceiver button. The red indicator light will illuminate while the signal is being transmitted.

PROGRAMMING TROUBLE-DIAGNO- SIS If HomeLink® does not quickly learn the hand- held transmitter information:

replace the hand-held transmitter batteries with new batteries.

CLEARING THE PROGRAMMED IN- FORMATION Individual buttons cannot be cleared, however to clear all programming, push and hold the two outside buttons and release when the indicator light begins to flash (in approximately 20
seconds).

REPROGRAMMING A SINGLE Home- Link® BUTTON To reprogram a HomeLink® Universal Transcei- ver button, complete the following. 1. Push and hold the desired HomeLink® button. Do not release the button until step 4 has been completed.

IF YOUR VEHICLE IS STOLEN If your vehicle is stolen, you should change the codes of any non-rolling code device that has been programmed into HomeLink®. Consult the Owner’s Manual of each device or call the those devices for manufacturer or dealer of additional information.

When your vehicle is recovered, you will need to reprogram the HomeLink® Univer- sal Transceiver with your new transmitter information.

KEYS

A key number plate is supplied with your keys. Record the key number and keep it in a safe place (such as your wallet), not in the vehicle. If you lose your keys, see a NISSAN dealer for duplicates by using the key number. NISSAN does not record any key numbers so it is very important to keep track of your key number plate.

A key number is only necessary when you have lost all keys and do not have one to duplicate from. If you still have a key, this key can be duplicated by a NISSAN dealer.

Key number plate (1) NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYS- TEM KEYS Your vehicle can only be driven with the master keys which are registered to the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System components in your vehicle. These keys have a transponder chip in the key head.

Never leave these keys in the vehicle.

Additional or replacement keys:

If you still have a key, the key number is not necessary when you need extra NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System keys. Your dealer can duplicate your existing key. As many as 4 keys can be used with one vehicle. You should bring all the registered keys that you have to a NISSAN dealer for registration. This is because the registration process will erase the memory of all key codes previously registered into the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System. After the registration process, these components will only recognize keys coded into the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System during registration. Any key that is not given to your dealer at the time of registration will no longer be able to start your vehicle.

INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (if so equipped) Your vehicle can only be driven with the Intelligent Keys which are registered to your vehicle’s Intelligent Key system components and NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System compo- nents. As many as 4 Intelligent Keys can be registered and used with one vehicle. The new keys must be registered by a NISSAN dealer prior to use with the Intelligent Key system and NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System of your vehicle. Since the registration process requires erasing all memory in the Intelligent Key compo- nents when registering new keys, be sure to take all Intelligent Keys that you have to the NISSAN dealer.

CAUTION

. Be sure to carry the Intelligent Key with you when driving. The Intelli- gent Key is a precision device with a

built-in transmitter. To avoid dama- ging it, please note the following.

— The Intelligent Key is water resistant; however, wetting may damage the Intelligent Key. If the Intelligent Key gets wet, immediately wipe until it is com- pletely dry.

— Do not bend, drop or strike it

against another object.

— Do not place the Intelligent Key for an extended period in a place where temperatures ex- ceed 1408F (608C).

— Do not change or modify the

VALET HAND-OFF When you have to leave a key with a valet, give them the key itself after removing the mechanical key to protect your belongings.

To prevent the glove box from being opened during valet hand-off, follow the procedures below.

2. Lock the glove box with the mechanical key.

3. Hand the key to the valet, keeping the mechanical key in your pocket or bag. Insert the mechanical key into the key when you retrieve your vehicle.

MECHANICAL KEY To remove the mechanical key, release the lock knob at the back of the key.

To install the mechanical key, firmly insert it into the key until the lock knob returns to the lock position.

. Before opening any door, always look for and avoid oncoming traffic. . Do not leave children unattended inside the vehicle. They could un- knowingly activate switches or con- trols. Unattended children could become involved in serious acci- dents.

OPENING AND CLOSING WINDOWS WITH THE MECHANICAL KEY The driver’s door key operation also allows you to open and close all door windows.

To open the windows, turn the driver’s door key cylinder to the rear of the vehicle for longer than 1 second. The door is unlocked and the window keeps opening while turning the key.

This function can also be performed by pushing and holding the door UNLOCK button of the key. (See “REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYS- TEM” later in this section.)

To close the windows, turn the driver’s door key cylinder to the front of the vehicle for longer than 1 second. The door is locked and the window keeps closing while turning the key.

LOCKING WITH MECHANICAL KEY The power door lock system allows you to lock or unlock all doors simultaneously using the mechanical key.

Turning the driver’s door key cylinder to the front of the vehicle *1 will lock all doors. Turning the driver’s door key cylinder once to the rear of the vehicle *2 will unlock the driver’s door. After returning the key to the neutral position *3 , turning it to the rear again within 1 minute will unlock all doors. . You can switch the lock system to the mode that allows you to open all the doors when the key is turned once. (See “HOW TO USE

Lockout protection When the power door lock switch (driver or front passenger) is moved to the lock position with the key in the port and any door open, all doors will lock and unlock automatically. With the Intelligent Key left in the vehicle (not in the key port) and any door open, all doors will unlock automatically and a chime will sound after the door is closed.

These functions help to prevent the key from being accidentally locked inside the vehicle.

VEHICLE SPEED SENSING DOOR LOCK MECHANISM All doors will be locked automatically when the vehicle speed reaches 15 MPH (24 km/h).

To activate or deactivate the vehicle speed sensing door lock mechanism, perform the following procedure.

1. Close all doors.

2. Push the ignition switch to the “ON”

position.

3. Within 20 seconds, push and hold the lock switch to the “LOCK”

power door position for more than 5 seconds.

4. When activated,

To activate or deactivate the automatic door unlock mechanism, perform the following pro- cedure.

position.

3. Within 20 seconds, push and hold the power door lock switch to the “UNLOCK” position for more than 5 seconds.

Before locking the doors, make sure the key is not left in the vehicle.

1. Pull

OPERATING POWER LIFT GATE (if so equipped) To operate the power lift gate, the selector lever must be in the P (Park) position.

OPERATING MANUAL LIFT GATE To open the lift gate, unlock it and push the opener switch *A . Pull up the lift gate to open. The lift gate can be unlocked by:

on the key

pushing the unlock button twice.

pushing the lift gate request switch (if so equipped).

pushing the door handle request switch twice (if so equipped).

pushing the power door lock switch to the unlock position.

Power lift gate main switch The power lift gate operation can be turned on or off by the power lift gate main switch on the instrument panel.

When the power lift gate main switch is pushed to the “OFF” position, the power operation is not available by the power lift gate switch on the lift gate and lift gate opener switch.

Power open When the lift gate is fully closed, the lift gate will fully open automatically by:

The hazard flashes 4 times and the outside chime sounds when the lift gate starts opening.

NOTE: The lift gate can be opened by the power lift gate switch *A or the lift gate button *C even if the lift gate is locked. The lift gate will individually unlock and open. Once the lift gate is closed, its lock will align to the vehicle’s lock or unlock status.

Power close When the lift gate is fully opened, the lift gate will fully close automatically by:

pushing the power lift gate switch *A on the instrument panel pushing the power lift gate switch *D on the lower part of the lift gate pushing the lift gate release button *C on the key for more than 1 second
