just cars is good lets you cover nearly any modification with bad driving record and i found was preety cheap

shannons wont seem to cover you with bad driving record they suck balls

i was with shannons, not too bad, but found they fked up a few things on when on the phone to em and you could tell you were dealing with someone that wasnt a car enthusiast, and what they screwed up was things for example that resulted in me driving a car around which had no cover at all and wasnt even on their records :S lol, and other minor things.

but most of the time they seemed pretty up on cars and all that, they covered all my mods, and were pretty cheap for someone like myself under 25 covering multiple vehicles.
so, shannons - not great, but not bad i guess lol.

im with shannons, definatley better to go in there and talk to them face to face
i have 4 cars insured with a total value of around $14000 for under $1k a year, im only 22, but have a clean driving record (have been fined for speeding once)
i have...
74 ST celica, insured for $5k, $150 a year limited use
72 LT celica project, insured for $5.5k laid up (so cant drive it) with all parts and the shell covered $100 a year
92 Camry 3rd party for $200 a year
98 Mirage full comp, Daily insured for $3.5k for $400 a year
and i can pay it off monthly biggrin.gif so when i sell a car i just have to call up and cancel insurance for that car biggrin.gif

also i still have the KE70 insured 3rd party fire theft through AAMI for $230 a year

I'm with Shannons as well, but i only set up my insurance, changes etc by going in to the shop in Hobart, i find you get a whole lot better service than on the phone (mind you even when i had to call and make a claim the guy on the end of the phone new exactly what a cefiro was so he definately knew his cars). Basically if you show you are a true enthusiest it definately counts, losing your liscence is frowned upon but they do have a discount if you are a cams affiliated club member.

In saying that i have 4 cars all with full comprehensive insurance,
Ceffy:- full comp fully modified with all parts listed, limited usage(though you don't have to keep track)
Laurel:- Full comp, fully modified, tho unregistered it has cover while in the shed and while on the trailer to and from events
4runner:- full comp, fully modified including engine swap and lifted, everyday usage
Echo, full comp daily driver, no mods
All for about $1300 a year

Shannons wont touch you if you've lost your license in the last 12 months, even longer if it involved alcohol. they're pretty selective, but i spose by doing that, they can lower their premiums for the people they choose wink.gif

Shannons are pretty strict on past four tears. Just car only three, they won me,much simpler all round. GL with whoever you choose!!

well mine...
i lost my licence 6 months ago so..
94 supra na 5 spd..
2400 p/y with 400 excess.
i adjusted this with just car so its
1300 p/y with 1900 excess.
full comp on $17k car with mods

just incase anyone is wondering i added my exhaust mod was extra $66.
not sure if its a standard increase for any mods or different price for each

I'm with Shannons
They wouldnt insure me over the phone
I went in there and they said yeah no problems
Premium is $800 per year, limited driving
Insured for $15,000
I'm 24 and had 2 speeding fines in 7 years
Excess is like $500 I think

I'd definitely recommend going in to see Shannons as opposed to over the phone

did u call them and speak on the phone??

much better results if you go into shannons and speak to a sales rep in person rather than over the fone...

shannons are quite picky with who they insure, and if your under 25 and call them, they wont give you the time of day
if you have a VERY clean driving record and are under 25 with a modified car (silvias/skylines/supras arnt included) you should head in there and have a chat
they are after people who are responsible and real enthusists, not the average 20yr old with a BOV

I'm with ANCA insurence brokers. For a 2002 Holden Rodeo LT Sport, turbo diesel, for a 20 year old, with a clean driving record, it cost me $1k, with 800 excess..

cheapest i could find

thats still pretty suprisingly expensive...

usually they take into account things like suburb, behind locked gate, garaged, limited use etc...

even knowing how bullshit modified your car is/going to be i find that expensive for a shannons quote when tripod can have 2 heavily modified drift cars, a modified work bus and a daily for a 1/5th of that

Surely there's more places to go than Shannon's and Just Car?

i think it might have alot to do where rob lives thumbsup.gif, if he still lives where i always used to see his skyline parked the suburb on a whole can be a bit dodgy laugh.gif tongue.gif

exactly. my lude has hardly anything done to it, body kit, mags, zorst, pod, steering wheel and audio, respray.
Aami quoted me $1850 full comp, ract was $1700, just car quoted me $800, with adjustable excess (ie if i pay $1200 per year my excess would be $900, if i pay $600 a year my excess would be $2000). I'm 18 without any infringements, on p plates
