Well I made more progress yesterday and now the tailshaft mounts are in and the tailshaft gets sent away to be slightly shortened(using the evo tailshaft).Next step is sorting out an exhaust system, which will be pretty tricky trying to weave it through the transfer case, crossmember, tunnel maze!!
Then I need to sort out a fuel tank ,maybe a collector too.Not much major work left to get it running now ,I will be so glad to actually get the thing up and running after all this time and money poured into it!!!!

he car has been coming along quite well recently,I now have the tailshaft(shortened evo 5) fitted along with all four driveshafts(all evo6,which is found out are 10mm shorter than evo5!!)
Front brakes have been mounted and Brembo calipers resealed and fitted with new PFC pads.
Whilst i was away in Adelaide/Melb I had the exhaust system built by SCOTTS RODS(Ipswich),It was quite a task as I wouldnt let him drop it any lower than the sump pan or chassis rails as I want to fit a complete flat floor and diffuser at the rear(hence the pipes going up and over rear diff cradle)Finished off the 3" system with a pair of Yoshimura Mufflers from a gsxr.It looks a bit weird atm but once its meshed at the rear around the no plate panel I think it should look ok.
Next step is the fuel tank and fuel system, Ive bought a 20 litre foam filled fuel cell that will fit in the spoace on the passenger side where the std fuel tank used to live.
Photos are in no particular order.

Well I finally got to drive the car today, just around the test track!!,very easy car to drive,no understeer to speak of,certainly a bit boreing to drive after having overpowered front wheel drives for the past 8 or so years, no tourqe steer,no wheelspin, lacking a bit of power compared with my black mk3,but I guess all that will change once i run a better engine and turbo config,i ran it on 15 psi today 9which is 260hp atw and it didnt really feel quick(maybe thats a good thing).
anyway I thought I would add the latest photos ,before i go off to the Hillclimb tomorrow, the cars not quite finished but its close enough to run!!,still need side skirts, rear diffuser and flat bottom floor.

I dont have any but if anyone does feel free to post them, he hit some oil from the car before coming down the hill and went straight in, needs new front bar, and cooler, it did not look too bad today when pulled apart, the amount of nuts still in the car is funny, next week he is building a new engine for superlap looking for 400hp at all fours, will post info when done.

thats pretty fucking cool - top gear live had similar (if anyone went) swift with evo running gear.

This thing with a built motor would certainly hook it.
