Mates regularly visit a place in NSW where the owner had collected over 300 cars and scattered them across his property in little groups. The guy passed away and the son is slowly selling them off, but only to a select few "invited" people. Some are in good nick, others are strictly for parts.

They head out bush scouring properties for collections like these and random cars tucked away or left on properties. Found some good "rare finds" in their travels..

Quite a good site --> http://www.carsinbarns.com/

Found this out past Warwick when a mate and I were 4 wheel driving a couple of weeks ago...would make an awesome hot rod pickup!

On The H.A.M.B website there is a thread with 90+ pages of rusting classics, mostly American but still a really good read. :(

I have always wondered how people can just let those classics just rust away.

some of the ones i posted, the owner passed away and in another case was recovering from a heart attack for several months etc
but yes some of them are a real mystery, abandoned..

And it would still be straighter than half the cars on the road in QLD and SA.

as is this beasty

spot the resemblance

no more holdens
Post #25

Yep along time ago in another century, these old cars were worth nothin
When in the late 60s ,you could buy FC Holdens from the wreckers with rego and half a tank of fuel for $30
I suppose keepin in pristine condition waitin for a good return on ya $30 didnt seem that good
2 door XM,XP Falcons could be had for a few hundred also

Just wonderin anyone wanna start collecting EA Falcons and VK commondores
Theyll be worth heaps in the future
(Maybe when were all flying in cars)

As the owner of one of these cars it would have been nice to be asked before having the photo (s) pinched from another website

If a photo has been uploaded to a website and contains no copyright per-say, than there is no problem with it being used on other sites, and certainly not breaking the law.

PM with which picture is your's and I will remove it for you.

Sad to see cars rote away like that. I am trying to save a 65 xp sedan ATM.was a one owner car. The original owner bought it new back I'n 65 Where he ran it into the ground and pulled the motor out where it sat under the family home for 20 years. the guy passed away and I got lucky with it and saved it from the scrap heap.

a couple months ago I woulda got a few of a GT Camira a mate had sitting in his yard, He was holding for someone who was gonna try and restore it, s*** load of work ahead of him though, as you could put your finger through the roof :/

An old Sigma (we think?) That someone dumped & burnt on a local track, now gets used as a flex ramp biggrin.gif
