Silvia Rb25 - has anyone done this?

hey i was talking to a mechanic today and he was talking about doing a Rb25 conversion to a silvia has anyone done this or know who has? was it easy, hard what complications? and how much it set you back?

wasnt that really ugly orange thing from up north that andrew from ignition frove on powercruise a rb25???

yeh it sure was, the one with the flames in the paint and the funny wing thing?
must of badly needed a tune coz it sure didnt seem to go very well...
also Prisemans old s13, the gold one, was rb25 in pretty sure! SCREAMS!!

yeah priso's old one/barnzy's current used to run an rb25, then a 25/30. not sure what he has in it now. also there is a green and black s13 with a rb20 in it, ian_and1 on ns.com had a yellow rb20 onevia also, and there plenty others kicking around.
pretty sure its straight bolt in set up, perhaps a rb20 or rb25 cross member needed but im unsure as i havent done one myself. so yeah, not too hard!

yeah jonnies orange/black one... its weird cos he just got it tuned by dr drift.. so should have gone better than that..
240kw and 800nm ..

as far as expense is concerned i think hes spent around 10 including the purchase of a half cut so it sounds like a relatively simple conversin and its no too much of a tight squeeze

id say there is quite a few rb25 s13's hiding around hobart alone.

The orange/black one ran I think 117mph on Sunday at the drags so it must be making a bit of power

my mate has one for sale in the forums with an rb20 in it. dont think it was too hard to do.

done this to a mates s13, used 33 x member with 10mm spacers between it and chassis to clear bonnet, have to modify gearbox x-member but thats its, pretty simple.

lol @ 10k conversion...

10k spent on either a ca18 or sr20 would be pushing near 300rwkw if anyone with half a brain was doing it

haha you would wanna hope so... seeming you can get

720cc nismo's z32 and power fc for around 2g

then its just the turbo and front mount needed....

and a good tune/..

could get close to 300 with 6G's i reckon..

i got 240-250 with 4g

my housemate is doing a rb26 into a s13.5 that has been trial fitted and lined up fully.

a mate of mine has a rb26 in his s13 in cairns aswell.

im doing a s15 with a rb next year...

its not a hard conversion, just gotta know what to do to make it sit right.

just google or give munros a call because they did jonnys all in house and the 240kw was with a manifold gasket leak and a doggy waste gate. dr drift reackons it shold go over 250kw once fixed and it was spinning 1st, 2nd and squiling 3rd at the drags

What drugs are you lot on - I think Ryan is the only one here who has any fucking idea what hes on about. You don't need a "kit" to put a rb into a silvia. And you don't need lots of power to "chirp 3rd" lol.. Stiff suspension and crap tyres make it easier to do...

I just don't get you blokes some days..... Its like a war of the tossers lol.

and stardard springs and decent tyres with lowered pressure make it harder and i didnt say it only chirped 3rd. it was squeling all the way through 3rd and chirped into 4th
