Well i just picked up a HQ sedan, no rust and pretty mint, mild 308 engine bay detailed.

Interior is good but door cards need attention and few odds and sods.

i got 12k for the tonner, thought it was pretty good considering it was a 6cyl.
Just wasn't practical i really need the room of a sedan as its my only car and if i gotta take people anywhere i would have been fucked with the ute, plus ive always wanted a sedan. Unfortunately i had to part with my turbo patrol to get this but i think it will be worth it in the long run.

Sweet, I work at VW, and drive that terribly noisey blue RX2 that you may have seen down there, next time I see you out at the HQ I will stop and say hi!

What's been done to this mild 308?

starclassic
Post #18

mildish cam lil rough idle, 304 heads, flat tops, holley, elec ign.

Looking for a 350 to 383 atm that ill build up nicely for it with a turbo 700 box.

going to rebuild the 10bolt and leav that in it for a while, ive seen them do high 12's all day and not fault so im happy with that for now.

Then looking at making a custom instrument cluster for it.

Its got a 3.08 open centre now but am buying a 3.36 LSD very soon, the car i got it out of had a shagged torque converter so i never really got to drive it except out of the driveway once, just hope its quicker than the six!!! and i kinda just want to be able to skid haha

Sounds wicked!

I gave a tonner with a hot six a bit of a run last night pulling onto the highway in my ute. Well I think it was a six. Surprised me how well it went.
Though he didn't look to comfortable when we got going, the tonners aren't built for speed. laugh.gif

haha yea mine was stiff as but stuck to the road pretty well, better then the sedan does actually, its a bit of a boat atm but like anything give it time and saving money and it will get there. also if anybody has a motor 308 or bigger running or not, complete or not, atleast block heads and crank ill be happy to come have a look if its under $1000
