Quick question for everyone... anyone know a place that does powder coating for rims in Brisbane\Ipswich? I've had quick search on google and all the places i've found seem to do majority large jobs. More commercial then simple jobs.
If anyone knows anywhere or had it done any info would be appreciated. And a rough price if you used them.

HIJACK! Does anyone know if 'powdercoat' can bond to chrome? Or does it have to be roughed up/ removed?

yes you can, but i would recomend getting it sandblasted before hand, unless you want to use the chrome with a transparent powder that gives it a awesome look, turns out a very bright candy colour.

if that includes sandblasting then its pretty decent. i used to coat 4 rims for $400 including blasting, could be done cheaper if you look around tho.

i live in northern nsw, but got quoted about 10 minutes ago, 4x19s sandblasted and powdercoated any colour for 320, he said it would have been cheaper, but the clear on some factory wheels is a pain in the ass to remove.

have hurd quotes down to 200 for a set, but depends on your wheel condition i guess, from the couple of quotes i got it seamed to vary from 250-350ish

A powder coating mob just off boundary rd archerfield did my ve gts 20s last year and wen i got them they had gutter marks and the clear coating over the rims that oem wheels have was around 280 from memory but again mine were in pretty shit shape but once i got em back hey were like new

$280 for all 4 ? Thats pretty cheap.

Yeh pretty sure it was like 70 a rim..coz its an industrial type of joint n they dont often do wheels i think he was unsure what to charge me lol

Done 2 sets of rims there, good price depending on size and condition/prep work involved..
1 set was four 13x7 steel rims, think they cost $180. Was always cheapest quote hen calling a number of places.
