castrol rear axle saf-xa was the lubricant used by sauber-mercedes to win the 1989 le mans 24 hour endurance sports car race, the 1989 and 1990 world sports car championships. this liquid is a 1 litre, fully synthetic, rear axle lubricant designed to instil protection at both the highest and lowest temperature conditions where mineral oils fall short. castrol recommends this product for racing and competition applications and severe duty and long drain needs.

what vehicles is this product suitable for?

ideal for holden v8 commodores, trucks and road trains and competition vehicles such as group a sport cars, formula, holden, rally cars. superb for slip and non-limited slip rear axles, vehicles towing trailers and caravans and eaton, rockwell or dana axles which specify synthetic oils for long drain. can be used in certain manual transmission vehicles where gl5 80w/90, 90 or 80w/140 is recommended. it will cover viscosity ranges from sae 75w up to sae 140.
