Heres an update on my Datto Ute project.

Heres my Datsun 1200 Ute. No engine or gearbox conversions, just a ride that looks and sounds good. Ive got a set of 15 inch Superlites from Performance Wheels. Resprayed in "lightning strike" silver from Ford. Fibreglass lid and custom sub boxes with an all Clarion sound system by Alstonville Total Entertainment, 2 15" subs, 4 ch 400w amp and 2 6x9" triple cone speakers in the tray and in the cab is a CD/AM/FM tuner, 2 6" splits and tweeters and 2 6" dual cone speakers. The door trims, seats, roof liner, sub boxes and tonneau cover are all covered in Green Crush and Black Velour done by Dannys Upholstry in Lismore NSW. Not finished yet. A 5-speed Overdrive box is on the way. Id like to re-do the tray with checker plate. A custom center console and re upholster the dash and new guages and the interior will be finished. Id also like another coat of clear on the paint with dark green metal flake in it. All in all, a nice (and slow sad.gif) daily driver.

    Hey buddy I love Datto's I've had two 1200 utes myself one was pretty hot. Take a look in my gallery, it was also at Summernats this year. The guy that bought it off me took it down. It's HOT, silver too just like your. I like the Sub set up, are they ported in to the cabin?

    Hey buddy I've added some pics for an idea if you ever intend to go further with the body, have you thought about putting another motor in it? If you ever decide you want to it's awesome fun. If you want I can give you full details about mine also it has an S13 dash in it and 300ZX seats. I'm sure you're already on datsun1200.com so if you needed to know anything about 1200 then that site is definately the place to ask. Where'd you get the hard top done. I was about to do the same before I sold mine. They look trick as I reckon.

    Not the best pic but you get the idea, shaved gate and hooks and note tray as it goes under the back window. All smoothed off inside and runs up around the top too.

    Here it is from the front, once again not the best pic but you can note the front mount has been blended in with a custom front apron. Big rims look the trick but I guess it's all about how far you want to go.

    Aahhhh I had a set of superlites. 13" rims with big rubber.... Should've seen them light up! He he he.........
