I think it's a fair enough question. Obviously, it came stock with the scoop and top mounted intercooler, but now with a fmic what is the scoop being used for? It looks pretty pointless to me, unless its being used as a ram air intake or something similar.

you sir are also a fucking idiot. it comes standard on the car to feed the top mount intercooler, the intercooler is no longer there so obviously it does not serve that purpose anymore. would simply allow cooler air in and out of the engine bay. to take the scoop off an STI would be molestation and would probably cost a fair bit to get a standard bonnet and spray it in that colour, although i have seen it done to some WRX's / GT's but never to an STI.

O.T - awesome looking rig mate, love the style of the rims, FMIC etc. have fun with it.

very nice wrx. i own a 98 wrx and they get very hot under the hood so even though theres no top mount the scoop still adds more air flow to keep it cooler. my problem is why have a fmic if your using a standard turbo?
    it just creates more lag.

ok so yes there is a fmic but just to please ppl like you two you think the owner will go out buy a non turbo bonnet get it painted and fit it to the car?? i would say no he would rather save the $800- $1000 that he would have eitherwise spent on all that and buy more performance parts like coilover or even a bigger turbo or maybe bought something for their partner that would keep em happy for a few months and the get the owner some action ph34r.gif for these few months as well tongue.gif

and his car would get more cold air blasted from the top to keep temps down in the bay.

    hope that makes sense.

    again nice car mate smile.gif

    It's in my sig.
well, it is when my sig is actually visible.
    12.5 in the 1/4, 4.3 to 100...which isn't particularly fast for an srt6.

Why did you feel the need to be a cock when all I did was compliment his and not reference mine at all?
    Inquiring minds want to know.

well i conceed i am a bit retarded but my question isnt.
why get a rex then get a fmic which offers almost no power gain/s unless you are running a big snail or high boost ?
im saying it would look so much sicker with a vented or cf bonnet.
how many wrx's dont have the scoop ??

p.s i can stop drugs if i want to, i just dont want to.
