Hi all, I feel like an absolute idiot for having to ask this, but does anyone have any tips on how to remove the front door trim on the above mentioned car?

I have NO problems on my skyline, everything unscrews/unclips quite easily..... but as my girlfriend's Barina is quite new, I don't want to risk breaking the panels as I take all the covers off/pry things off etc etc, and I'm not entirely sure where it's clipped to the door.

I've found a whole bunch of pop rivets around the outer edge, plus 2 screws inside the door handle, but there seems to be something else holding it on, I think it's the door handle surround (the part you pull to open the door) but I can't for the life of me get the surround out (been prying it for the last 20 minutes and I'm convinced it will break if I pry it as hard as I seemingly need to!)

Anyone done this on a TK barina, or does anyone have enough experience with door trims to offer some general advice maybe?

/frustrated rant.

Cheers.

PM replied to..... it's got electric windows with the small switches so no winder. Will have another look on the weekend most likely and see if I can see if the window buttons are hooked up to something that's keeping it tight on the door.

I know from experience with the earlier (02) Barina, that you pull the "centre section" out of the grab handle carefully with a screwdriver and there are a couple of screws in there and up round where the tweeter mounts....
There are also some screws in and under the plastic tray at the bottom of the door, and these need to be released before the trim can be removed...in the car I had the tray and the trim were 2 different pieces....there are screws at the sides too(in the door jamb)....check them out also
Not sure what yours looks like but hope this helps...

he's got the right idea. the clips on those will be an absolute PRICk to get loose. suggest going and buying a dozen as you will break a few.

Hi I don't know why you feel like an idiot, not everyone is suppose to know how to remove car door trim!
So this post did not help me much. and I had to figure it out myself.
Last month I replaced my windows regulator on a Mitsubishi 380 and was helped with a good Utub video - but it is so simple on that car to remove the trim. two external bolts and you're done.
The barina is quite tricky. I had to dismantle the door (Front) handle (semi vertical). It opens in two parts, like a cover,
When this is off you'll see 2 deep holes each has a small philips screw that goes in the door body . Remove them and then unclip the whole trim...
Actually I did removed the little triangle part just above the opening for the window that seems to stop the trim to go up. (and broke a funny clip...)
So unclip the whole trim (some of the clip will stay on the door and need to go back on the trip for re assembly)
You can't remove the control box until you loosen the trim and go behind to unclip that control box power lead.
Then you'll see they are 3 screws that need to be removed the middle one was silver the side ones were black. (that is if you need to remove it). The Mitsubishi could be removed before the trim!
Hope this helps a little !
My problem was with the central locking not working properly when I push the button down, (Ok with remoter control) I think it is a bad contact somewhere as jiggling it seems to get it working...
