Been toying with the ideas for a new car and one of them was a 94/95 excel with a 4G93T engine swap, its possible to do this as ive been told by a workshop in WA that they have done it and it is legal(in WA). I have been quoted $3,250 for a Lancer Manual 1/2 cut with the 4G93T.

1. Ive looked in my booklet and checked the trans website but i still cant work out if its a legal thing in QLD, Does any one know

2. Is this a good price for the engine

Cheers

you could buy a 2Litre engine for that price.

The whole conversion will cost you around 10 grand all up hey. nice if you got that sorta money to play with...

I'm not sure if its legal in QLD but guesing it is as i've seen other cars done like that. Think its just a case of getting it engineered or complianced or whatever...

Umm, i am guessing your talking about an x2? They were origionally sold with mitsu engines in them, there will be a few changes needed, but they should be an almost direct bolt in, and totally legal (with a mod plate) in queensland.

Yep will need an early model x2 with a 4g15.... as the later x2's and x3's had there motors turned around 180deg and changed to the hyundai alpha block!

sounds like a nice swap.. yeah rigoli are running a 4g63 in their accent, which essentially uses the same mounts as the 4g93.

sounds a bit pricey for the engine tho, i brought an evo half cut from rolin down the coast. they had some vr4 half cuts which are cheaper and may be worth a look.

turbo......cars weight x 2.5 = engine size
N/A........cars weight x 3.0 = engine size

but it all comes down to the blueplater, check with them first he will tell you everything you need too do

The regoli accent orignaly had the same alpha motor that the x3's and late x2's had in them ( not now tongue.gif )... the engine is 180deg the wrong way if u want to do a 4g9X conversion! Everything will have to be custom made to suit as u r going from driver side to passenger side mount... the inner guard will have to modified to fit gearbox etc etc....! Looking at a lot of money!

I u want a bolt in for a 4g92 have a look at a hyundai lantra from the early 90's as they came with a NA 4g92 DSM stock... and i have never seen one tricked out so thats a bonus! the early x1's and x2's had a 4g15 DSM motor... a mate of mine has sucessfuly slotted a 4g61 (1.6 Turbo) DSM into his x2 with out too many problems at all... doesnt even run an intercooler tongue.gif
