Congrats on the night...even if it wasn't up to some peoples expectations... Isn't it a motto for living in Darwin not to have any expectation of anything in the first place so not to be let down? |

Thanks Ben, its always good hearing positive feedback. At the same time I want to hear the good and the bad as its the only way you can improve and ensure you continue to do the things that were done right. |

Incorrect Amanda, they were pumped, I checked that. Still waiting to see verdict of what the issue was. I know one of the problems - patrons not aiming correctly!! |

I know one of the problems - patrons not aiming correctly!! Had a look at the stands Troy but the price I was quoted was out of this world, strange since they were sitting there til about Thursday. I see Lars lurking - did you bring the little one down to play on The Rock? well if they were pumped then somethin was seriously wrong, didn't smell like people not aimin!! atleast they had toilet paper all night well they did in the pits!! |

QUOTE(ScUd'EsS @ Jul 21 2008, 08:26 AM) Just wanted to clarify - i think when people say they arent BIG names - its in terms of the average jo mum and dad out there that they are not big names to .. You and I will know them as big names but we are 'involved' in motorsport... but yes with a bit of media and marketing and education they will become big names to the average family and they will flock with interest to see what this 'new' team is... This is what confuses me. I still dont understand why your trying to get more and more ppl that "arent usually interested" in attending, when you have ppl that are "interested and love drag racing" still sitting at home? Not that it bothers me that much (drag racing that is), im all about the skids. But for the ones that are interested, maybe HVDRA should look into why the ppl that sat on the hill every meet for so many years have decided to sit at home instead of attending? And im not just talking about the ppl asking/pushing for different classes of racing. QUOTE(ScUd'EsS @ Jul 21 2008, 11:50 AM) Ken there was Variety - we had 6 of them at the top gate (they are a good childrens charity hey!!) Kaedyn has good tastes thats why! I think kids relate to scud cause its the same size as them like the cool flame paint job!! everyone has comented that it should stay like that ........ DONE!! Sold!! Finished And for the record, my old man and little brother attended (old mans a bike nut) and enjoyed themselves after not being to the drags for a few years. Oldmans talking about attending the titles. He also asked me when the next street meet was on, so maybe as a suggestion, a board/ sign etc with the racing calendar could be placed at the gate to notify patrons of coming events (if it hasnt already been done {havent seen one personally}). |

What a fantastic night of racing!! Well done to the HVDRA committee and all volunteers who were involved!! We had to leave early due to unforseen circumstances, but had friends and work colleagues who had never been to the drags before and they were absolutely wrapped with the night! |

QUOTE(frcefed @ Jul 22 2008, 01:05 AM) from what i have heard from friends and family the night was great . couldnt attend as i live in sydney now . the complaints about the time between races is a little unfair , at a minimum group 1 cars need around a 1 hour turn around anyway and if you attend any big meets (summernationals , winternationals etc) there is a big wait between group 1 cars . difference being when they do come out there are more of them , i think the last meet i attended there was 18-19 TD cars. as for getting sport compact to darwin , if a committee member is interested to pm me i could talk to a few mates . 7 and 8 sec rotas sounds ok? its not pac but its still fast and a RB26/30 gemini to keep lars quiet? Thanks Baz but dont worry bout it. It will cost to much money and they are not big names, So HVDRA wont bring them up cos the average mother dont know them |

And im not just talking about the ppl asking/pushing for different classes of racing. Can you offer any insight?? Thoughts /Ideas?? Cause i dont know who stays away now. DONE!! Sold!! Finished Bullshit - run your prof eye over it Joe! It can stay the same patern but definately needs to be 'cleaned' up! And for the record, my old man and little brother attended (old mans a bike nut) and enjoyed themselves after not being to the drags for a few years. Oldmans talking about attending the titles. Theres a date board on the exit ramp/road off Tiger Brenna Drive. I noticed NAMSC has a sign next to our entry booth but its on the wrong side - spectators enter on the left and the sign is over on the right. The next event is usually announced on the night.. but that can be hard also because you cant always hear the speakers over the noise. But all great ideas thanks! Helps us to understand what 'comforts' those on the hill would like to have. |
