Engine kill systems are illegal however... So that would be interesting to see.

Just as an FYI - not all insurers will take this into consideration with pricing, if anyone is looking to buy they will need to check with their own cover provider to see if it will hold any effect on premiums.

insurance in australia is designed to be like a PNG bank, they take deposits but no withdrawl.

Your better off saving abit in the bank and get basic cover for the other guy. But this engine kill system certainly looks interesting

All depends on who you're buying from and if you educate yourself on what you're buying.

So many people just buy a product, make assumptions on what they are getting without educating themselves on it, and then pointing a finger of blame back at the provider when it doesn't go their way. Brissy floods was a perfect example of this and it woke a lot of people up to it (albeit there was fault on both sides with some insurers as well).

Anyways, we digress...

Senator - got any more info on the unit they used? Brand/model?

I worked for the SUN group for a period of time (Suncorp, AAMI, JustCar ect) and I can definitely let you know that this will not impact an insurance premium they're able to deliver.

With a remote kill system,I'm guessing,if someone has stolen, and is driving your vehicle down a steep hill, with a sheer cliff at the bottom, and you remotely kill the engine, halfway down.As good as it would feel at the time,I imagine it would be frowned upon dunno.gif
