Hey pplz,

Just a few questions about the twin turbo soarer engine.

Is it strong? (how much power can it handle with stocko internals)
Is it a heavy bitch?
Horsepower?
Potential with a few mods (exhaust, intercooler, possible turbo(s) upgrade, computer etc)?
Length, width and breadth of the engine?

Thanks peoples

Take it easy,
Louis

A: a Fair bit, 2JZ handles a dickload, 1JZ is just as strong

Is it a heavy bitch?
Find me 1 engine that isnt... in inline6 fashion.

Horsepower?
206kw 'gentlemans agreement'

Potential with a few mods (exhaust, intercooler, possible turbo(s) upgrade, computer etc)?
plenty!!!!

Length, width and breadth of the engine?
about yay long by yay wide

i might know of one for sale possibly depending if its written off.... PM SoaringMarc

they are F**KING strong, lol

600hp + on stock internals hehe biggrin.gif

hmm id say its pretty heavy, but no more than the RB26DETT. but alot more than a SR20

a stock one puts down about 170ish rwkw

and with the usual bolt on mods they make ALOT more, lol

im unsure of the size

they can make as much as an rb26 on stock internals

300rwhp? shiat, what mods have you got done? I was thinking about doing a conversion into a silvia.

mines making 300 rwhp on stock turbos and internals

= 223 rwKW for those comparing to a stock 1JZ with 170rwKW.

They're a damn good engine, Toyota uses them in a heap of different cars.

you can get around 350rwhp out of a silvia motor mate...CA or SR...
dont be silly and pay shitloads for a conversion when you can spend that cash and have yourself a fucking fast car thats balanced...

i got 300hp at the fly now. But to have 1j in a silvia, the power potential is far greater than a ca18 or sr20.

true, however what is the potential of your wallet???
But seriously though i have thought about many conversions for my silvia, but i think the money is best spent on doing up the old 4 bangers then investing in a conversion....

with 4k i know i can get my silvia to 250rwkw....and thats less than the price of a conversion in its own...

yeah, 250rwkw is ok on an sr, but with a ca it'd cost you 4-6k to get your internals handling that much. 1jzgte would be awesome, would weight a bit i imagine.

SR can handle 290rwkw + on stock internals neil, COWCAR's car is proof of that!!

hell yeah, i don't know about the longevity of his engine, although he very rarely pushes it.
