So my mate has broken his immobilizer button on the key, the car is a 96 camry, its the stock immobilizer, he cant use the car cos he cant get into it and even if he could he couldnt start it, he looked into it via toyota, it was going to cost over a grand to fix, so im just seeing, is there any other alternate methods to solving this problem? thanks.

The immobilizer does not require power as it is a tuned "coil" inside the key, specific to a control box located under the dash with sends an "OK" signal to the ecu to allow the car to start. |
