Sorry to all for oiling the track, had I realised that I was dropping oil I would have stop to minimise the mess and obviously to save my motor. Any who saw it would have seen it still ran a 12.5 so it was a little difficult to detect during the run.

The car was parked next to the eatery on the back of the trailor for about 30mins, if you call that taking the long way I guess you are correct.

Correct, the filter seal did fail. It wasnt the power I was squeezing out of it but a consumable item that isnt stressed by power output.

Despite the loss I still had a great time and hope you all did also. Ang did a great job putting it all together and we owe it to her for such a great event. Hope the next on is just as good if not better.

they shouldnt just fail like that. Unless its been on the car for about 3 years.

I'd be cautious about it, and be concerned that there may have been a fair bit of pressure to bust that seal.

Check it all out bro...IF it is a genuine failure of the seal through defect...then i'd be hitting up the company you bought it from.

Sorry to see it happen to your car anyway

The filter wasnt old and I dont think pressure alone would have caused the failure. When I removed the filter part of the seal was missing eek.gif

Nothing major that went lol, I dont think there is much left useable on my motor apart from the cams and the block lol. Not sure about the block as yet, see if the rods did any damage to it.

Bah tis all good some of the names didnt match the sheet cause some people changed their cars at the last min plus hard to call and read a sheet in XX seconds and watch the race lol.

Was a great day, to the dude that put oil down its a shame about loosin the engine as a result ey, I wouldnt worry about it mate people are bound to bitch, but if it had been a bigger name car or something like that they wouldn't bitch. at the end of the day thats drag racing its to be expected. The fact we all got through the day with no injuries or crashes is awesome smile.gif

Ah well, shit breaks when you push the limits on a car, and as racing is all about pushing limits - shit is bound to go wrong and break somewhere along the line!
Im sure everyone has broken something once or twice while giving it a nudge, just unfortunate it happened in the first hour of dragtime and it happened to be something that made a mess!!

I was just thinking the same thing you said as i looked at the atleast nothing big went wrong. Engine having no oil = about the worst you can do to a engine lol.

If the problem was only in the filter (i seriously doubt it) then i would persue the people you bought it from cause that is going to be a rather nasty process getting her back on the road. As ski said to get that sort of pressure in the oil in the first place something was not right in there. I can give you the number of the best evo specialist in town if you like smile.gif thumbsup.gif good luck with it all and hope to see it out there again. its a missile

well i assumed it would have been turned off pretty damn quick once you got to the end of the 1/4 and saw zero oil pressure etc an so the guts of the motor might have been ok.. guess you wont know for sure till you tear it all down though.. I mean to me its not like you had zero oil instantly .. it pissed out all the way along the track.. anyway, good luck with it.. hope ya get it going again, still made good time! lol

Its unfortunate that Liam had this mishap, but hey, he was planning on a built motor now anyways, so its just needed a bit sooner.

I highly doubt it broke due to pressure, but hey, whats done is done. It'll be back stronger than ever, I have no doubt about that.

Don't think he'll be needing an "evo specialist" anytime soon, he does alright by himself. thumbsup.gif

Sorry to have missed the day do due to m.s.d problems at the bracket series on saturday night. Tried our best to rectify problem but unfortunately it wasn't a simple issue. We came out and spectated but that isn't the same as competing. Hopefully to be there next time and have a run against the sigma and beat it.
To Ang it was a well organised event and can't wait for the next one.
