I honestly have little interest in space flights. IMO it'd be pretty boring after you get over the zero-gravity novelty. Hell of a view though.

The thing that really amazes me with these superconductors is that, as the guy in the video said, a 3" diameter and 2mm thick superconductor could suspend 1 ton, and it doesn't require energy and is totally frictionless.

Pretty fcuking incredible.

So when will they use the system for highspeed trains?

How do you stop ? Not only that. Is everything has to bed freezing cold in order to have no resistance.

Is this true though ? I'm not saying the video isn't super cool, but the magnet demonstration going around the ring died after 4 loops and it didn't take any force for him to take it out of the lock... So where does the 1 tonne suspension come into play ? You would assume that it would then take at least 1 ton of force to break the disk out of the lock dunno.gif

Are you saying the members are 6-7 years old? You must be because 6-7 years on the forum is hardly 'new'. Also I didn't realise there was an age you must get your P's at?

Why can't we all just get along like we did in middle school? I wish I could bake a pie, made of rainbows and smiles, and we could all eat it and be happy.
