Hey guys,
Have had a lot of questions about white walls recently, How much they cost, Where to get them done etc.
The idea of this thread is for all to post any info about white wallers or ask any questions about them. This should keep the forums a little bit cleaner as well as my inbox!
Something's you should know about whitewalls:
1: Proper white walls are painted on to your tyre. The tyre is shaved back a few mm to provide a flat and adhesive surface.
2: As the side wall of your tyre is shaved back, There for compromising the integrity of the wall, It may be illegal.
3: Yes, You can get different sized and coloured walls (EG: A Red wall 20mm thick, A White wall 25mm thick etc)
4: Prices can vary. Any where from $80-$160 for all 4 wheels, Expect to pay more if getting multiple colours done.
5: They can and will become discoloured. Clean them often to prevent and remove any staining and decolourisation.
6: Different solutions are used to clean. Your everyday household cleaning products can do the job, Jiff, Ajax etc. (Ask your white waller if he recommends a solution)
7: Beware of gutters and scrubbing! These will damage your white walls
8: DO NOT use tyre shine again! This will permanently stain your white wall!
Now, My white walls are done by Jaime from Mr White Walls in Geebung. He does a complete (and great quality) job for $150. My wheels suffer from scrubbing and obviously this is not good for the white wall itself. So to have the same tyres re-done he only charges $100.
He also sells a "special" cleaning solution for $15 which is well worth it! You will notice as soon as you use it how well it works. Jaime will also do Red coloured walls as well.

My brother just got bluewalls done on his VL. It's actually up in members rides atm.
For all 4 tyres it cost $80.

are they only white? im interested in getting red ones....also heard of an 18mm paint line as opposed to the standard 12.....anybody know if my whitewalls has these options

Mr White Walls does both Red and White walls. As for size i got the largest but he does do others. Best option is to call and ask him mate

the sit in the bead of your tyre and hold snug up to your tyre cheap as

Ahhh yes. Have heard about these. If im not mistaken they are made from latex?
If heard reports of this falling/flying off while driving...
At the end of the day, The proper paint on walls can last you years or ask aslong as your tyres do. So $150 for something that might last you 2 years really isnt that pricey!
Not really... However i doubt he would physically fit a 28 or 30 inch rim on his machine!

a couple more tips more tips about whitewalls as ive had them on my hq for the last 5 years.
1st. dont hit gutters!!! learnt the hard way with my first set.
2nd.dont use tyre shine on them as it attracts dirt and it will stain your whitewalls and leve them a dirty yellow/brown colour.and if left for too long can permanantly stain them.
3rd.best way to clean that ive found is jif(or any other sort of kitchen cleaner)and a toothbrush.it takes a while but it works well.also wd40 doesnt work to bad.
havnt tried the cleaner that mr whitewalls sells but i will have to buy some.
hope this has been some help to you guys!!

another thing to consider:
Ill save you the time wasting now. you CANNOT paint new tyres they must be weathered at LEAST 500km's. the older the better! (and the less tyre shine'd the better as well)
If you have tyre shined your tyres alot...do yourself a favour and get the tyres flipped/rotated to inside so they dont discolor, even a small amount of silicon will kill your white walls!!! The silicon in tyre shine will make your white walls go yellow within a week to a month depending how much the sun hits them to draw it to the surface of the tyre while its hot.
If you dont have a choice but to work with a side which HAS had tyre shine on them then clean them with a degreaser when the tyres are HOT and in the sun...repeat a few times will u get that dry look...do this for a week or so.
Ive got red walls on my 20" wheels, that are on my commo. if you want pics just pm me i havent taken any yet.

They do a pretty good job. Works best when the tyres have been used abit and are free of all the oily shit, give them a light rub with thinners before you get them done and they'll last abit longer

I have a workshop in burleigh its 3g / 31 rudman parade
I also offer an on site mobile service after hours and weekends, i have colours ranging from
red blue yelllow white pink and orange could get others upon request,
I offer four thicknesses from as thin as 4mm line to 25mm line and can do one line and two lines to colours of your choice.
I do almost any tire have done up to 24'' on a hilux 4 by 4 will do bikes at the same cost with the same technique
same price of 150 for four tyres single lines
I am also looking into other ways about buffing into the tyre as this is a problem to some people thinking of doing there tyres i do have another option though the initial cost is more for more information on the new technique please dont hesitate to call.

i have had my cuzin give a quote to a police man on whitewall tyres in the gold coast for his weekend car, i no there is talk getting
around about the safety of the tyre wall after the buffing of the sidewall this being very minimal in my opinion though either way i
have been searching around for other ways to do it and have come up with an alternative that is legal for any tyre though you
need to ring me for a quote on these initial cost is higher than the original buff and paint though for piece of mind come to

Im looking into white walls for two of my cars, one of them is a old stocker so regular white walls are fine, however the other one has rather aggressive wheel alignment settings and goes through tires like a crackhead does crack. Due to this im looking into flappers (port-a-walls), can anyone confirm if they are legal or not?
i want whitewalls on it but like to be able to move them tire to tire...

how about green? sort of a dark minty green.. i have a set of 16's i want to get a set of green spin striping done around them. im in caboolture 40 mins north of brisbane but im traveling to the southside for work all the time so i can drop them off before work and pick them up after.

White will do if all else fails, i do have bloody tire shine on at moment, went through car wash it was part of the service.
Any suggestions as to how long to wait b4 i get this done... must say, im keen as mustard.

There are some guys at Ebbw Vale near Ipswich that can do red walls or white walls for about $150 for 4 tyres. They are at X-Kote Paint Restorations. Shop 1/45 Brisbane road Ebbw Vale 3282 2118

Hey guys had white walls on my VS they looked good for the first week, after that they started going brown i bought Kenco shift it to clean them just like the guy said and they still went brown, i hardly even drove it, it would of been lucky to do 60 km a week.

proper whitewalls are not painted on, it is white rubber in the tyre, usually more expensive whitewalls have a wider whitewall, upto 3 or 4" wide, in the early 60's the narrower whitewalls became popular and later some of the sportier tyres had a red line, after this the trend was highlighted white writting, these tyres like whitewalls contain white rubber inside the sidewall and where used alot in the 80's whith the sidewall shaved as a wide radial alternative to whitewalls on older cars. many young guys on a tight budget painted whitewalls on cheaper blackwall tyres, this worked ok on older tyres but with the amount of flex you get in the sidewall of a radial it cracks and flakes off, what you need is a coating with elasticity and the sidewall will need a good scuff up and clean before you paint them, also new tyres or tyres that have had a lot of silicone tyre shine applied will be a problem, porta walls or flappers look good but they still also are not real white walls and if they dont fall apart after a few runs on the highway they will end up chewing into your sidewall, i am running a set of narrow whitewalls by khumo on 13" wheels wich cost around $100 per tyre but the sizes are limited in these cheaper whitewalls and once you go to 15"wide whites your starting to look at $300+ per tyre, i have a supercharged 6 and find these kuhmos bite in alot better than the same size firestone blackwalls i had before but i still prefer the look it had when i painted on wide whites but atleast apart from cleaning real whitewalls are maintanance free and wont scrape, flake or crack off. iv eseen the new low profile tyres with the sidewalls buffed and painted, they seem to hold up pretty well if you dont touch the gutters but last year i was pulled over and had a cop tell me my tyres were illegally cut into and painted, he said it was defective but i was able to show him how the white was raised from the rest of the sidewall, turned out that copper didnt know you could still buy whitewall tyres but i reckon even if they were buffed and painted what would be the difference between that and some sh!t driver who scrapes the sidewall all the time on the gutter or hits big potholes with large diameter rims and gets around with bubbles and fractures in the sidewall.

We do whitewalls in Brisbane And Sunshine Coast. Special Formula Paint created by us. We can do them on Tyres that have done just 1000km's and they last the length of the tyre if cared for properly!
Our White paint doesn't go yellow
Our red doesn't fade
Every Colour Available, if we don't have it we will make it up.

Im just curious, do you make clients sign any sort of waiver prior to doing the work for them just to cover your ass? Obviously as per this thread, it can deem your tyres illegal.
