BoostCruising _ Car Help & Advice _ 2003 Hilux Cd Wiring

Posted by: thepurplepulsar Dec 24 2006, 01:17 AM

Hey people,

For someone that has installed a CD player in their Hilux can you identify the wire colours on the standard radio loom:

Light Green -
Blue -
Purple -
Pink -
Dark Green -
Brown -
Blue/ Yellow - Constant Power
Silver - Accessories

I'd guess that Brown being the Earth and 4 other wires for the 2 speakers (L & R), but that still leaves one wire left over?

Thanks in advance,
thepurplepulsar.

Light Green - speaker
Blue - Remote power(for amp)
Purple - speaker
Pink - speaker
Dark Green - speaker
Brown - Ground
Blue/ Yellow - Constant Power
Silver - Accessories

not sure whether light or dark colors are for + or - green and purple are definitly speakers tho, pink is actually a light purple

however check for a white wire, i think that is for a dimmer, hook that one to ur lights

there may be a mute wire there too, just seal it off, i think its for a handsfree kit somehow

The original stereo or the owners manual didnt have a wiring diagram??

I'd recommed running your own earth for the unit, ground it straight to the body.

As for the speaker wires, it's almost always easier to run new wiring, the factory wirng isnt much chop when a bigger wattage speaker is installed anyway.

The Gray and the Blue/Silver matches this document, I'm guessing this will be your best bet if someone's removed the connector at the end of the loom.
