how did she handle Ormeau
Gravedigger
May 1 2008, 07:44 PM
went in water tower climbed up ( didn't know it got that bad at the top ) and came out upper ormeau rd , apart from a couple of hairy moments coming down and almost getting stuck once it went really well. it actually has pretty good articulation for a bus
and it's not exactly standard height

May 6 2008, 06:15 PM
At the moment I fit a standard bumper and smaller tyres and drive it. I am in 2 minds about wether to keep doing it or purchase a truck to tow it on. Money is obviously a huge factor but with the recent crackdown on 4wds I may have to go the truck route.

orsm looks great.
hey boof, with the law etc you might be best trying to avoid the new laws (hoon laws) and take the tow rig route, you'd know as well as anyone how bad its getting with the 4wd's and laws etc
btw that handle camp road like its doing the shopping centre speed bumps
too easy, you need a vertical wall or something
P.S anyone wanna tell us if you need permits for glasshouse?
someone told me you do still

oh and if anyone is keen in a quick run in a fortnights time to johnson road etc (im just testing the new parts etc) pm me,i might need a tow if last times anything to go by
web86
May 6 2008, 07:05 PM
as far as i know you dont need a permit to be in glasshouse, as long as the vehicle is registered and the driver is licenced, but i've never been pulled over and asked. rangers just dont seem to care as long as your not acting like a tool.
booflux
May 6 2008, 07:36 PM
Yeh Hoon I know exactly where you are coming from but it just opens a whole new can of worms and problems

You no longer need permits for Glasshouse or national Parks if your vehicle is registered and the driver licensed but the greay area is youa re only supposed to drive in certain areas.
Kane_O
May 6 2008, 07:47 PM
yep no permit needed unless your car is registed and your licensed, only trouble we've had from rangers is we were using a a peice of there big concrete pipe for a flexing spot and driving over the big log piles lol
