High Performance 6 cylinders, such as the M3 and the 350Z, are on a different prohibited list called "High Powered 6 cylinders". They are all banned from P1 and P2 licences.

Vehicles with diesel powered engines are permitted, even if they are turbocharged, as far as i know.

i jus put a twin carby setup on my engine instead of the original single .... would that be classified as a performance modification? im pretty sure my car could be bought new with the setup that ive put on it.

without ripping whole block apart, u cant tell if a car has performance cams/pistons etc or is bored out to bigger displacement!
cant tell whether ecu is remapped either...

I think with the engine mods its the obvious stuff like Pods,CAIs,Turbos,SCs etc.

I dont see how the they are going to know if it has internal work or comp pistons and plugs.

And also how the fuck are they going to tell if it has a modded ECU? What are they going to do jack it up and instantly tell the difference between a normal and a modded ECU?

BTW Green P Platers here in NSW are allowed to do a 100 on the highway and Red P Platers (Like me) can only do 90.

if u r drivin in nsw with no p plates and the cops pull you over you can get done for that.

i was drivin in qld on my p's with a nsw licence, got pulled over and breath tested. i was .02 the legal limit in nsw at the time. he told me that i had a zero limit but i argued that i only knew the nsw limit so he let me off but told me to pull over at the next servo for an hour so it would wear off.

the laws apply to wotever state you are in not where you got your p's

NT = P platers have to have there P's for 12 months and whilst on there P's can drive any car they want up to 3.5 tonne.... in other words a 1000rwhp car if they want but limited to a max speed of 80kph, go figure.... then after 12 months they are on there open license and up here there is no speed limit 40km's out of the city... love it....

maann I was planning on getting a V12 Bentley but then i found out that was on the list i thought i get a ferrari 575M V12 instead, but thats on the list too. Fark me dead now ill never be able to drive high powered european prestige cars. ahh well looks like ill have to stick to twin turbo'd jap imports that are more likely to kill me. but seriously ppl this law is fuked up, think aboutit, it still doesnt restrict us that much from driving imports, thats just their mistake.

lol, how can they tell if ur car is turbo, say i buy a non turbo SR20DE for exaple, so it says N/A on the blueslip and Rego papers, then Turbo it, and put some plastic shit over the turbo and piping. to make everything look nice and stock, first they will check the rego, and it will say N/A, then if they get real noesy and decide to pop the hood, all they will see is a dirty engine wif dirty plastic covers over all the other stuff. ah, i might try that if i get sick of no boost. im kinda getting ova the whole nsw road rules, might go back to the NT if i can afford it. lol, not really, i love it in NSW.

I previously had an r32 gtst 1994 . and i got pulled over lost my licence then twice more in a space of a year so i got rid of it . i changed color and plates still got done and was on green Ps now wat the fuck is up with it like honestly they should noe a commodore isnt much slower than a stocky and we allowed to drive it like every other mother and father on the road . now i got a sss wich im not happy with but have to settle . is it true about the r32 pre 91 models there allowed .

a guy i know recently got an exemption easy just for writing a letter to the rta they gave it to him straight up and hes been caught doing burnouts and lost his license coz of it and they havent done anything.

it would be a real help if u could find out what was said in the letter so i could possibly follow the same lines he did cause i want an r32 . can get over them . awsome car and awsome to drive . thanks

AHHHH i remember the days i wanted an r32 lol i still kinda do. he said something along the lines of it was his brothers car and it was the only way he could get to and from work or something. i would have been right up kissing their asses from him i was thinking of doing the same thing.
