hi all im looking for anyone in qld that has a V8 in there 2wd hilux i need info on where you got it modded

we put a 350chev into my cousins lux its a fair bit of work and to do it ourselves cost him about 10g for box computer mounts prety much everything, his recently tubed and shortened his diff as they dont handle the power to well also be prepared to break lots of diffs and tailshafts

Lots of ppl put 1uzfe's into hiluxes... check out the forums at http://www.lextreme.com they are guru's with these engines so any questions you need answered they should have covered, plus if you do a search of the forums I am POSITIVE there is information already on there as I helped a mate out with this exact conversion about 9 months ago.

For more info, Wayne's World 4x4's down in burleigh on the Gold Coast specialize in these particular conversions and another useful link is Dellow Automotive, and the Castlemaine Rod Shop, these guys offer custom bellhousings to mate up supra 5 speed boxes etc to the 1uzfe and lots of other goodies, all worth checking out

Hmmmm, the diffs are usually pretty tolerant man as lots of other cars (especially rotaries) utilize the hilux diff as an upgrade to handle substantial power increases, although u mentioned computer, so an injected 350 chev could be pushing the parcel on a standard diff I suppose

oh yeah i already no all about the motor what im after is any one in qld that has had there convertion mod plated iv done the ring around and 2 people have said i cant do it and 4 others have said they can do it

i just want to no if anyone had gotten a mod plate for on in qld?

a friend of mines brother bought a hilux and it had the holden V8 in it. u might of seen it around if u r in brisbane its orange, he sold it now and is movin on to bigger things

well i know that u can get mod plates for a supra twin turbo in hiluxes cause thats wat im gunna put it myn

Contrary to popular belief, you will no longer get a V8 engine over 253 cu in mod plated in a 2wd hilux.
