who's your pick for 2005
SBR n ambrose are hard to go past, but judging by the car speed n performance of a few teams in both camps i think its gunna be close..
my pic will be a ford will take the 05 championship as for a driver i'd go with ambrose but ingall and lowndes/bright have good car pace also..
im sure HRT are back on the game so its gunna be a good year..
FORD FOR BATHURST!

i really dont care. in my opinion, they made a huge mistake by restricting this event to 2 car makers only, as it suddenly lost all appeal for those who are not into australian cars. just not very excitinig with the same kind of vehicles competing year after year. this is just my personal opinion, so dont flame me. id love to hear some intelligent reasoning however, regarding this event.

Skaifey will take it out..

the thing is...when they did have multiple makes ie the GTR's they were unstoppable (as were other cars at some points).....so the holden/ford thing was created to make it more even
Matyi
Mar 11 2005, 07:39 PM
yeah i guess ive heard a little bit about that... but i think, the way to make it more competitive is not to ban an awesome car, but to build a car of your own which is faster..
s13viper
Mar 11 2005, 07:58 PM
u would think so
but the fords/holdens of the early 90's were useless....even when making the GTRs go RWD only with weight penalties they were still lapping 2sec/lap quicker consistently......only way to bring everone back together was by banning the car, lol

I have two hopes for this years season:
1. Ambrose to *NOT* Win the Championship.
2. See a Holden team win the Championship, be it HRT or another team

Yes, I'm a Holden Bogan at heart!

When were the GTR's made to go rwd? Never IIRC they only ever had major weight penalties, the main point about AWD vs RWD was that the GTR's could run 4 tyres the same size hence giving them better traction.
For this year i hope Ambrose doesnt win, hes such a friggen sook, glad he will be leaving for nascar, Ingall i dont like either, so anyone apart from those 2 i want to win.

Dunno why u got Bright and fast in the same sentence. Those FPR cars are just billy carts.
I reckon russel ingal will be the winner for sure. Id love to see craig lowndes or greg murphy get it though, they are the nice guys of motorsport.
I think HRT will win bathurst, they have had the fastest cars on track this year so I think they will convert that into enduro wins...
