It's the "how to make a car look unfinished" look. You gain extra points for this if you also have a black roof, and more still if you have a black boot.

it started out as being purposeful, drifters/racers using carbon fibre bonnets
then the tri-hards started thinking that people would think they had carbon bonnets if they painted it black
then all the ricers started seeing all the tri-hards with painted bonnets and thought that painting your bonnet was a new trend and copied

all in all it's a pretty gay practice and i hope the trend dies soon, considering it started out as a drift thing it's even more gay on fwd's
I'm pretty sure the trend will wear off soon as I'm seeing a lot of japs now painting their carbon bonnets to match their car, so as usual the aussie ricers will follow suit and colour coded bonnets will the all the rage again

Nah, it was 1.5" at ISO100, -2.0EV and F8.0

Taken about 6:30 or something, it was actually quite dark but long exposure makes it look pretty damn bright
