there is a possibility i mite be moving to darwin early next year and bringing my 180sx with me!! So naturally i am curious about your cruise scene.. whats it like... how do the cops treat you??

Also what is there in the way of performance workshops, parts places etc.

Oh and i reeeeaaaallly wanna keep my queensland plates... is this possible does any one know??

Cops... i guess they are the same the world over, if they think they can get away with giving you a ticket, they will....

Remember We don't have a points system, so i think they see that as an excuse to collect as much revenue as possible!... however it's just a case of making sure you don't make a name for yourself, as word spreads fast being a small area... and also not to get carried away on the open and mostly quiet roads...

As far as performance shops.... hmmmm best to bring all your contact numbers with you....

and accordong to MVR - Darwin, you have to change your plates over within 3 months or 1 month if you are working...

The good news being that Licence plates are cheap as chips.... around $150 for any combination of numbers and letters up to 7 characters long...

and the cruise scene... well.... it's growing

It's definantly growing... There's some wankers out there, but mostly people are nice enough, or just leave you alone.

Just watch out for carparks in the burbs.
If your carefull about where you leave it you'll be right.

There WAS a bit of a cruise scene up in Darwin for a while a few months ago but all the REAL cars have stopped cruising and nows theres only ricers *cough* street tek *cough* and the regulars.

Hopefully people will start to come out when it starts to rain.

IMO theres a couple of good performance places where I take my car.
I could name a bunch NOT to go to though haha.

What colour is your 180? Please tell me its not black

I have an Import oversized Paseo, there's a few others up here as well.
Some S13's, 180's, R32's, JZZ30-32's, Z32's etc etc.... They're here.

cruz in darwin's absolute crap imo...sorry guys but it seems worse and worse everytime we go out, thus we jus can't be bothered...plus all other nice cars either stay at home or jus stay at home

I see more and more cars coming to Darwin (like the aerotop supra) but they dont really go out cruising and arent friends with or associated with any of the others. I think thats the problem, from such a small town and only a few cars most of us dont know each other and dont know lots of the other cruisers.

If everyone knew everyone thered be a heaps good cruise. But then again.. you always get people tryna outdo other people in their fully hectic cars *cough* street tek *cough*

When I was in melbourne I thought the cruise scene there was shithouse compared to up here.
Too many dick pullers there...

Not this crap we have now.... which is simlar to melbourne.. ie, wankers.

Give it another year or two.... There are a few rather interesting cars in the build at the moment...

The targa supra didn't cruise, simply because he didn't like to. He has now left Darwin however, so you won't be seeing that one for a bit.
