When i bought my car the front two wheels had lock nuts on them but the back two didnt, and i didnt get a key for the front ones, so i cant get the front ones off.

I have uploaded a pic of the nut, any ideas on how to get it off? without damaging wheel etc..

hahahaha that sucks mate, tis a shame they are recessed in or you could just use vice grips or sum shit

id just drill into the cnuts, or try to grind a wedge into them

go down to a wheel shop, they should be able to help you out

i went to signature and they could help much there like we could take it off, but its probably gonna wrek ur rim soo mehh, im lost for ideas

try and get a socket and smash the socket onto the lock nut, has to be a tight fit. try getting it off that way.

ill give it a try, i can see this going so wrong but im running out of options.
there isnt a tool like in that shape that would fit in?
my mate has the same shape key for his but its to big, soo devo'd..

There'd be no point in lock nuts if you could just buy a normal key would it

The best way as suggested is to get a socket that's slightly oversize and hit it on with a hammer. Once you've wedged it in, you should be able to undo it normally. You'll likely ruin the locknut, but there's no purpose of having it without the key.

is it a bmw? if so take it to a bmw service center and they will have a lock nut master set, get them off in 2 seconds.

LOL bad luck, i was similar problem but it was an factory wheel lock nut and it was able to get hold one from the manufacture it was an pain as my car had a flat tyre and needed an replacement too when it happend. Good luck mate

smash some socket onto it, just make sure it isnt one u borrowed from ur dads prized toolbox, or one you may need to use later.. and have a shot at that.. just dont go reefing at the ratchet.. use a long bar and slowly turn it..

i just had a good look at those pics, and i am 99% that they are standard BMW lock nuts.

if you can, get a big peice of metal shaped like a T and weld to the nut, then just twist off ahaha

OMG so many fucking air head replys in here its giving me a head ache.
Firtsly HOW THE FUCK is it possible "bash a socket ovcer it when the lock nut is RECESSED type
and secondly HOW THE FUCK are you going top be able to " weld a big piced of metal like a T to the nut". MOST MAGS ARE MAD OF MAGNESIUM WHICH MAKES A HOT WHITE FIRE WHICH YOU CAN NOT PUT OUT.

Go to repco and buy a set of allan key socket heads about $12 . GO home and find one thats about 1-2mm too big and tap it in with a hammer. Now slowly with a breaker bar put pressure as if you undoing it increase the pressure graduly until it loosens and comes undone.
If that fails and it strips out then you gonna need a few drill bits 6mm,8mm,10mm then a 12mm and drill the head of the lock nut off get the wheel out and change the studd

When I got my Guards rolled they had to get lock nuts of because I did not have the key... They seemed to get it off no problem and they did not even scratch anything SO I suggest just take it someone they prob charge like $10 dollars.....

I had the same problem with my Z32 when I imported it. Came over with 4 locknuts and no key. It was recessed even further in then yours. I tried getting it off using a socket but that didnt work. Even tried using a chisel to cut a wedge into it and turn it, this of course didn't work and because of this the tyre place couldn't get it off. I ended up having to drill through it and destroyed the stud.

Basically take it down to your local tyre shop. They have special sockets with deep groves inside them that they bash on and the groves lock into the locknut then they just turn it. Worked with my rims and mine were alot more recessed then yours.

Might want to call QFRS ahead of time so they can keep your garage from burning down when the rims catch fire seeing as they're probably made of magnesium and all.

its simple, use and easy out or a super out!!! same as getting a snaped bolt out of a hole except this actualy has something to grip onto if you had the rite tool as a snaped bolt doesnt, if you can get one of them out you can get this out!

Hammer and chisel, lock nut removal sockets( very handy ), drill it which would be very easy as once u drill the tapperd there would be no load on the stud it should just screw out easly, even a set of torque bits and hammer a over size one in.. Gl

13mm drill bit
Drill through head centre until the head of the bolt is destroyed
Remove wheel frum hub and then use vicegrips to remove left overs which since its not 'clamping' anything onto it will unscrew practically with your fingers.

my mate has the same bmw and he has a key which is the same shape, just too big, does anyone have a key on the coast that i could rent of them? im 90% sure its the standard bmw one..
