Howdy everyone,

Not normally in this section as my skyline takes up alot of my time lol

My daily is a nissan navara D21 4x4 2.7ltr diesel N/A, not exactly a power house, but want to keep it for weekends when not in the skyline but wanna know just what there like on the tracks, i have taken it through the really really easy tracks at the back of mt Warren but with the tires on it i havent really done anythin decent and they are crap tires (been stuck spinning on dry grass)

Basically I have put all new suspension in it, but before i spend any more money i wanna know if its worth it.

Was thinking of gettin some superior Engineering Drop shackles made for the rear, my old boy has them on his 60 series and it gives him bucket loads of travel. unfortunately there is nothing that i can really do for the front lol a decent set of 31's and a locker.

Cheers Gerard

There's heaps you can do, i have an 87 pathfinder with 2" suspension and 2" body lift, and got 33" maxxis bighorns on massive offset wheels from a landcruiser (to stop the tires scrubbing the chassis) under it, just needed to trim the guards a bit as well. Good news for you is, navara 4x4's came factory 2" extended bodymounts, so you can put the suspension and bodylift in and you'd be able to fit 35's, i've seen it done, still with torsion front end.

yeah i have seen a d21 with a turbo diesel 2.7 and 35's, was fuckin awesome lol

Dont bother with Drop shackles as they arent worth the coin unless you are doing ramp travel comps.

Make sure you aren't getting confused with drop shackles and extended shackles.

na im talking about the ones that have a pin in them that is removed and the shackel will twist and extend further, the brand my old man has is superior engineering drop shackles. he has them on his 60 series cruiser front and back and they made a world of difference

useless, gimmecky unless your prepaired to spend alot more building your suspension around it.

great for ramp queens, does SFA in the real world, apart from open up on side angles, unload on climbs, and generally make the rig less stable than it should be.

playing with your springs on it now, then getting them reset once you find the right spring rate with longer main leaves will get better flex than an off the shelf lift kit.

Do a search on there and you will see that the above quote is pretty spot on.
