True, build quality sucks. The guy I bought my car off has two testarossas (one for parts I guess

) and while the flat 12's are fucking horn, the interior and body suck ass. There nothing quality about them. But they are bred for performance. Besides, they look better than anything else on the road, I mean since when did man/woman stop paying to look good? Versace, gucci, crazy lucci.
I dunno man, 15 F1 drivers championships, 16 F1 Manufacturers championships says a bit about what they are built like.
As for Enzo, had he only been after your dollars, he would never have renegged on selling ferarri to ford in 1963.
I also note that the owner of two testarossas also owns a land rover. Considering owning a land rover means 100% of your garage time dedicated to keeping it on the road, the ferarris cant be all bad. Oh, and he takes them to phillip island for lots of round roundy work, as least they have a good life.
There are ferrari race cars and ferrari road cars. The road cars were there to pay for Enzo's race cars.To quote from a brief history of the Ferrari company -
"Part of the reason for the shoddiness of the Ferrari street cars was simply that Enzo didn't give a toss about his customers. He regarded his clients as rich fools who were there to finance his motor racing efforts and thereforth the glory of (Enzo) Ferrari's name." The reason Enzo refused to sell to Ford in 1963 was that they refused to allow him to run his motor sport team or racing department. Fiat on the other hand did when Ferrari sold to them for less than the $20 million that Ford offered in 1969. If you want some interesting homework, go and look at how many races Ferrari has won over the past 50 years and how many they entered. It'll give you an appreciation for how good the Ferrari PR machine is. It was once estimated that at least 30% of race goers at F1 events were thee only to see Ferrari's.
Funny that a Ferrari should be compared to a camry rental car. It was a joint deal between Fiat and Toyota in 1991 that saw the Ferrari company re-invent it's self with the help of a couple of design/production guys from Toyota and a lawyer from Fiat. Maybe thats why rental Camry's go like stink??

As for mentioning Landrovers, I can't figure that one out. I know many, many landrover owners and despite the fact they spend a fortune just keeping them on the road, when forced to upgrade they always seem to go and buy another one. I figure that they either attract people with a mental illness or sadists who like nothing better than the financial and emotional pain of keeping a car based tractor on the road.
It's always nice to know that there are enough people out there with ridiculous amounts of money to be able to live out the dreams of the rest of us mere mortals, and drive super cars the way we wish we could drive them. It's always interesting to get to meet someone who actually owns "dream cars" and find out what there really like. I once spoke to a visiting British IT guy who not only owned but used at track days a genuine Mc Claren F1. He said going wasn't a problem, it was stopping. once the brakes were hot, he claimed to use "Jesus as a brake marker".
Any one see the segement on Top Gear when James May got to finally to drive his boy hood dream car, a Lamborghini Countach?
