Yeah, I got my little bro here, he's never ever driven a car before. Ever. But he's got his L's and I want to get him used to the cars 'feeling' before sending him off to driving school/driving lessons. Dodgem cars would ba a good start, but where the hell are they

I thought Hughes airstrip might be a good start. Anywhere else. Basically somewhere with nothing to crash into and no other cars, with lots and lots of turning space.

i've just been teaching my bro as well.
winnellie on a weekend isnt too bad, the lee point area or knuckeys lagoon. as chris said, the airstrips on the side of the highway would be alright. it is a shame that hughes is closed off now though

i used to take a few people out there in the rolla and set up some cones/slalom/parking stuff and let em go nuts.

My mother dearest actually took me out to TDZ, when its quiet (weekend during days) it was actually really good.
Also, any little car parks(like ones next to ovals etc lol), there is one in wagaman next to oval/shops which is a decent size and sometimes has a "learner" driver giving it a go

Train station out TDZ on quiet days, plenty of give-way/stop signs and corners.

this the hockey/basketball/gunclub car park is where my old driving instructer took us, that and in the airport area (not the main airport, where all the small planes are, and not to mention the car parks at rapid creek there. even the gym/basketball front carpark is large lots of open space.

Charles Darwin University on a weekend or at night is really good. Lots of open carpark spaces for the basics and then a few roads with intersections etc for the more advanced stuff.
Very little traffic other than the other L platers.

I hear the security guards are fairly lenient when it comes to L platers too

Sweet guys thanks for those. So far Ive taken him to Charles Darwin National Park (?) , you know off tiger brennan. Got him doing the circuit there a couple of times. Probably should have started in Bunnings carpark where we went last night. Amazing how easy it is to take fine motor skills for granted.
Little bastard nearly put the passenger side into a couple of post!
Im thinking this is going to take a really, really long time. Enjoying it though.
Beware of Dark Green Celsior wearing L plates....
