Hey boosters what has happened to the cruising scene around here lately???? Seems like what used to be weekends and week nights packed with cruises there is absolutely nothing lately???? About the only regular things ive noticed are standing around in Wow carpark and the saturday united meets where nothing really happens!!

We need to get the cruise scene back up and running.

Yeah i noticed it seemed to really drop after Streetfame33 stopped organising them. Ive tried to organise 1 or 2 but people see low post count and automatically assume your the 5-0.


Ill try see whats happening tonight for that coast run you suggested im supposed to be going to some halloween party thing tonight not to sure what exactly is going down yet.

When i started using boost again few months back there were alot of cruises going on. so hasnt been that dead for years as u say.

i know back in the day all the shenanigans happened in industrial estates but even then wankers spoiled that with fireworks and shit.

yup cruising is being killed by the cops, once every second week or so mcgnarly organises one via PM's and theyre alright, but you have to keep out of the way, if the cops see a convoy of us, they will follow and ruin the night.

I dare say that things like petrol prices, increasing living cost, and more recently the threat or complete lose of jobs has strained the budgets of alot of people, and to that degree they can not justify spending money just to go for a drive around.

I would say the police war on "hoons" had a large impact. Also Enthusiasts negative attitudes against diversity of modifying styles. It’s a shame as 2 years ago it was a very much thriving scene. imo

Ive only ever been to race tapes ones at the GC. and they were awesome imo.

we dnt do saturday nite meets we only do thursday meets and we are in the process of finding a new meet spot, scene is still strong down this way getting 20 to 50 cars on a thursday still has died a fair bit tho

the cops havent ruined it at all? Its everyone who does/did stupid shit back in the day that got the cops attention then they started enforcing the law. You cannot blame them for doing their jobs.

cops have won, fact is if u go cruising these days expect to get pulled over and defected fined and loose ur licence. car impounded ect. cruising fails. cruising was good 4 years ago. since then its died 110% i feel sorry for those who missed out on the good ole days

Cruising has died lately, I think that cops crack down on certain types of cars and depending how the person drive/acts. I've been driving for close to 3 years now, been on quite a few cruises and have never been pulled up on a cruise and only been pulled over once for a RBT. If there weren't so many nobs pulling skids and driving defective cars on cruises mabye we could have some more successful ones.

dont start that defect shit. every 1's car is detectable. yes cops do target types of cars.. they target 1;s with front mounts, big wheels and easy defects. these days its all about being a sleeper. and keeping away from stupid cruises

qld car scene used to be pretty impressive.
between the riverside at west end, aspley maccas, harrys and broadwater carpark the car scene was massive.

mind you this is going back 5-10 years ago.

I agree that everybodys cars are defectable. I know that there are probly a couple of things my car could get defected for if a cop really wanted to give me one, but it still also comes down to how the person drives/treats the cop. If the person in question gets pulled up and is like "fuckin pigs always trying to get me" or the person in question is doing a skid of course they are going to get there car searched top to bottom. But also like you said car's with big front mounts and overly huge wheels are always going to be looked at first.

Every cruise I've been on so far have had reasonably sensible people and hasn't been bothered by the police apart from them asking us what we were up to.

iv got big wheels flash two tone paint job,full red retrim, tvs lowerd alot and i cruise every week never been pulled over cuz i dnt skid or try and race ppl off the lights, cruising isnt dead just have to know were to go, i will say it has slowed down but no way dead

yeah, seriously though, I think that your chance of being picked on depends a hell of a lot on whether you're driving a cop magnet. I mean, I'm no angel when it comes to obeying the law on the road, but I've only ever been pulled over once, which was for not stopping completely at a stop sign. He didn't even try to get me for anything else.
I'm sure that had I been in a Subie with massive gold wheels and a milo tin he would have gone looking.

no matter how clean and straight your car is if it has mods then there is probally gonna be some sort of defect there all i can say is if you like cruising then dont stop but also dont winge when you get defected

best car meet was computer road years ago it was a meet,race,skid spot an drift meet alot of u may say it was a shity logan bogan meet but for those of u who went u would know in its day it was a mini powercruise seeing up to 300 cars a nite bad thing was it was still illegal but there was an still is nothin reasonable price built for everyone to go, qr is good but to far away an it only ever features one event per nite..
someone bring back an organise the old days or get something built for these events will be hard but worth the work..

At the MG club cruise on the weekend we drove all around the hills then spent a while at Lakeside. Franky it was pretty cool. There were like 45 cars.

That and the countless young people who died in cars from the driver's being subjected to peer pressure, alcohol and combined with inexperience behind the wheel, as well as the stupid P plater mentality. Everyone thinks that it's so hard now, the cops aren't fair, you can't do anything. It's because there have been too many fools before you's that have learnt the hard way. You can have the shits at them for making your life harder, or in a way you can thank them for making these laws come into place to protect young people. Because that's what it's aimed at. Keeping younger driver's off the roads late at night when less traffic and passengers combine to make the driver's test themselves....



I bought my RX7 at the start of 2006 and I would say the scene was quite alive then. The Spit used to be pretty big, however i wasn't much of a "cruiser"at this time. I would say that my front mount was one of the largest I had seen on a road car. It was bridgeported, with an external gate and screamer pipe, AND it had shiny chrome 18's. And how many times did I get pulled over? Twice. Once for an RBT being late at night, and another time at the Spit when I escaped with my scalp. Not sure how, but thanks Ian It is driver attitude, however attitude can be reflected in the vehicle as well. If you have a car with multiple mods, which are illegal, it shows disregard for the law.

Times have changed, but there is a reason for it all. Things will get to the point where we aren't driving cars as we all know. It may be a long time off but things have to start somewhere.

The problem is, its all too predictable, car people have been going to the same bloody places for fuck knows, a few dickheads ruin it for everyone.
Too get on top of the situation, it really needs too be organised so that its hard for cops too keep up too the latest.

-private online forum with ONLY known people
-track down some digi scanners
-new, out of the way meet spots
-send dummy txts too known heroes so they end up being the cop bait
-find a few different drag/skid places
-find someone who is a traffic cops son/daughter and try rat out info
-DONT GO THE SAME NIGHT EVERY WEEK!

These are a few of the things we have started doing in my area that is proving successful in keeping down cop attention. When they get tough, we get smarter.
