OK, since i have 1 point for a year i am seriously considering other slower bikes. The Aprillia (*spelling*) sxv 450 or 550 looks hot, I love it and want it and it look like more than enuff fun. Was just wondering what any of you boosters reckon about the motards. not looking to transfer a 2 stroke into a motard just straight up buy a 4 stroke. been offered a deal on a KTM 690?? ( i like the KTM Duke better ) but i reckon they look like crap. OPINIONS PLEASE DUDES

i have ridden the sxv 550 motard and it hauls arse, everyone stop to look and see what it is, i have had a KTM 525 Motard and the sxv goes harder (EFI)
i have a CBR now and like a road bike better

Why you like the road bike better? top end speed? Handling? or what? just curious is all. The SXV does look hot and i was thinking licence friendly (lol) except for the wheelies

I was gonna say its probably your riding you need to look at not the bike you're on. A motard will just have you booked for wheelies and stoppies instead of speeding lol

We use the SXV550 engine at uni. It's great, dead flat torque curve, great power and it weighs fuck all. But the starters are a really weak point, and reliability in general isn't great.

the motards are fun, only reason i like my road bike better is my riding situation as im on the highway a fair bit,

It easy pretty easy to be 10 k's over pretty quick, you know that. Am still trying here and there to get the gsxr up on one but not enuff balls on my part. i just had some bad luck thinking i was on my full 12 points when i was only on 4 due to an earlier dui/work licence thing. long story but considering i can easily lose 1 point for the eliminator it has me worried when i am out and about, need licence for work. very hesitant to get a full exhaust now too cos i dont need the attention. has just taken a bit of the fun out of riding. well thats my little cry, will definately have to have a look at an SXV never seen one in the flesh.

i heard that the SXV550 is the fastest bike to cover a 100 meter sprint. must be fast to beat those 1000cc supersport bikes.

That would be from factory, would be only due to gearing if it is true.

I doubt a SXV650 can do 150 kph in 1st so its all relative

my r1 only does the 100m in 4.5s (stock) this does seem very slow but i guess it is all topend speed that these have been made for. so what does the sxv550 do?
