will be coilpacks
you can use high temp silicone from bunnings ($10 for a bottle/can) and seal them up to stop them arcing out but its only temporary so your best off getting some jjr coilpacs or splitfires if you have the cash

+1
You're using electrical components that are 16yrs old. They were never designed to last that long.

coilpacks are only designed for 80,000km's. Thats when nisssan say replace them in a logbook service...
But mine are going strong at 160,000km. im replacing mine soon.

If it is jerking as it comes onto boost, also check for boost leaks.

Anywhere between the turbo and the throttle body

Fuel pump relay possibly, I know thats the same response that happened with my brothers car when his was gone. And similar to my old car when the relay went on it aswell.

Check for boost leaks first before randomly throwing parts at it, they will cause ahesitation, not a miss as iamhappy thinks. They will also cause it to stall while coming to a stop. What have you got the plugs gapped to?

plugs are normal .08 or woteva they come as how can i find the leaks is there a easy way plus the intercooler piping joins are a bitch to get to as i gotta take front bar off

I use a boost leak tester, but you can use a cigar(lots of smoke) and run it all around the hoses everywhere. If there is a leak, with the engine at idle it will suck the smoke in.

does it idle fine?
but under load driving when it hits boost cuts out right?
i just had the same issue & my fuel pump was clogged check that mate or coils i got some spare parts here you could swap over to see the issue if ya want...
good luck just pm me if you need anything......

Is it ok if I ask a question here? Yesterday I was test driving a skyline and the car drove perfectly until i hit 4500rpm then it more or less cut out, ran like a dog and wouldnt rev any higher. Any ideas what that might have been?

that would be coilpacks probably

a mate of mine had a skyline that did the same thing (cut out at 5g) and not sure why, but it was the boost controller, pulled it out and she ran fine

Most boost leaks occur when the hose clamps tension up under boost and allow the silicon or rubber hoses to not seal to the intercooler piping. Under vacuum, the silicon/rubber will happily seal to the piping. Its like a garden hose with a small cut in it, might dribble a little fuel watering the plants but block off the flow at the nozzle and suddenly you have a geyser of water pressurising out

I prefer to watch the air flow meter voltage spike and timing drop on a scan tool to confirm though but its a common problem

Less boost means usually means the hose clamps dont strech as per my above reason

ran same boost with and without the boost controller, yet it had the problem with boost controller and no problem when it was out

got told could be comprssion i fuking hope not

tried another ecu that didnt do anything so i dont know ? fuked turbo? low compression? boost/vacuum leak? thats all i can think of

Your time looking for boost leaks is a lot cheaper than the other two options. Rule out boost leaks before you go for the expensive options

anyone kno how to test boost leaks and check compression

What boost you running? Could be boost cut... or coilpacks like everyone else has said.

Go through every single hose clamp and tighten them all down again. Check all silicon hoses for damage or splits.
